I stumbled upon a disgusting God hater who claims to be some kind of Bishop and he is spewing forth vile rantings of how we should be open to understanding homosexuality.

This Godless critter and his bile need to be clensed from society. He obviously thinks he is smarter than God. What an arrogant slimeball!

Well that is disgusting. But it's all we can expect from Episcopalian false Christians. That "Bishop Spong" is probably a pervert himself.

Yet if you substitute the word homosexuality for the word slavery, that is what is present today in the main line churches. If homosexuality is a given not a chosen way of life, the continued violation of gay and lesbian people, in order to preserve unity with the Church's homophobic constituency, is simply immoral. Not to bear corporate witness to those who still languish in the dying definitions of the past is to turn one's back on the very meaning of the Christ. Do we imagine that Jesus' invitation was, "Come unto me, some of ye." instead of "Come unto me, all ye?" Can any Church discriminate against any child of God and still sing, "Just as I am, without one plea, O Lamb of God, I come"?

To ensure that he goes straight to hell, he also wrote a book entitled "The Sins of Scripture: Exposing the Bible's Texts of Hate to Discover the God of Love."

There was another book he wrote called "Christianity must change or die".

What a novel idea. This man must be a genius. Obviously God did not really mean what he placed in scripture and we may feel free to change the context at our pleasure.

Where is the turning point where an educated person thinks he is at the level of correcting God.

This character is unbelievable.

If I may play Devil's advocate for a moment . . . if Christianity is, as this Eprisscopalian says, wrong and must change, then wouldn't that mean it's invalid and that his followers should abandon it entirely?

I mean, you don't decide that Communism is wrong, and so allow private industry but still call it Communism. He's proposing the same thing, creating a new, human-based religion and calling it Christianity.

I have this suspicion that various members of false churches start out with good intent (the broad path) and then decide that they themselves are so wonderful that they can second guess God Himself. I wonder what part of 1st Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind , does the so-called Bishop, think God got wrong?

It's ridiculous to believe anything that comes out of Episcopal, or any other Eastern European country. All most of them have had to eat for centuries is tree bark gruel and the occasional frozen WWII German soldier they find frozen in ice.

I've heard of this Spong-Bob fellow before! I'm not quite sure what he's going on about though -- is he suggesting homosexuals make good slaves? Apparently homo ladies have marvellous carpet cleaning skills, but I couldn't abide a lesbo anywhere near my welcome mat.

People just want to do whatever they want and then try to shoe-horn it into Christianity and claim that somehow it's justified. Nothing could be more clearer in the Bible than the injunction against homosexuality. I agree with brother Bathfire. It's just more false Christians. At least the Wiccans are honest about themselves being treeworshipers and dumpy lezbos. The homers masquerading as Christians are a much more perfidious enemy.
