I was a sea captain for many years. Many of those years in Key West and I ran gay reef trips - called Beef on the Reef. I was known as the straight guy and became a father confessor to many troubled gays.
The only people who are bothered by gay rights, gays or anybody else for that matter are closet gays or rednecks. even if they have a cultured accent The true redneck (who of course may well be a closet gay) would ban anything not taught by his/her sister mother - can be the same person so I am told in certain areas of the country.
Education does not always get rid of the redneck, education does not always open the mind. These people often become fundamentalist Christians or Muslims. Most will have a belief system that included's a supernatural being - a god or God. (same thing) A closed mind is too precious to save

people need to look inside themselves and figure out wtf is going on in their own lives that makes them feel they need to blast hate onto others. this crap about gay folks not haveing rights is just the same as way back when in history when women had no rights and then black folks had no rights. get real people, this is AMERICA, the melting pot, accept that our country was founded on diversity and get over yourselves. just as many of you have said, a lot of my friends are gay, lesbian, bi and/or transgender. i dont love them because of their sexual preferance, but who they are on the inside. i dont live my life pointing out the differences in people and teach my kids the same. maybe you ignorant folks out there wasting all your energy on hating a person or group of people because they are different than you should hang out with my 4 year old for a while, you might just learn something.
