Rather has each and every child of God the holy spirit in order interpret and understand the bible. I dare you, who do you think you are to criticize and judge my interpretation of the holy word of God ? Do you think you are superior to others ? What petty arrogance. Are you behaving in that same manner also in the church. With the superiority " i know it better " attitude ? What does your husband think about this ? And, what does your pastor say about this behavior ? If i'd be your pastor, i would think about some sever discipline in order for you to return to the place you deserve. To be silent, and learn as a precious vase, fully of the holy spirit of the lord.

You need not dare me, dear. I'm a civilized woman from a civilized nation. All you need do is ask, and I am happy to help. In answer to your questions, I am a daughter of the King of Kings (2 Corinthians 6:18), charged with the responsibility to judge with righteous judgement (John 7:24) for the purpose of wisdom, to know the wolf from the sheep (Matthew 10:16), so that I may identify the wicked and be free from his influence, as commanded by my Heavenly Father (1 Corinthians 5:13). It is not I who am superior, but Christ Jesus, my Lord and Master, who lives in me and animates my every behavior. I am but a vessel of the Spirit of God, and all I do, I do because I am allowing His Will to be manifest through my flesh, and you would do well to show reverence to God's Temple (1 Corinthians 6:19).

Furthermore, I praise God Almighty you are not my pastor. Not only are the pastors from Brazil perverts and charlatans [Pastor Tells Female Church Members: My Sperm Is Divine Milk Of Holy Spirit, Demands Oral Sex With Them] but if they are as egocentric and hot headed as you, they have surely missed the Good News. I think your church must be among those that attract psychopaths, as you are a gullible, foolish people who are easily led with the verbal smoke and mirrors false Christians continually offer [clergy in top ten careers that attract psychopaths].

Still, I pray there is hope for you yet. If you will but calm down and read the posts as they are intended - for your edification - you just may learn a thing or two.

Please explain, how have I attacked you.

Behave properly with me, who the h#### do you think are you talking with ? Some respect, please !!
Well, at first, I thought I was talking to a mature Christian, but now I'm beginning to think I'm taking to a drama queen.

All we ask is that you show that YOU know the Bible. Why is that offensive?

Excuse me ? Do you think a book like the bible has no controversial issues ?
If by "controversial" you mean "Bible says one thing and the secular laws/ethics say another thing," then I agree. In my opinion, there is no controversy - just follow the Bible and screw ethics!

Sorry to tell you, but you seem to be a little naive. The bible has some pretty complex issues, where the interpretations diverge.
And this is the problem. You seem to think that the Bible needs to be interpreted. Do you really think God is so cruel, that He would give as a Life Instruction Manual so complex that it needed to be "interpreted"? We believe that the Bible is not to be interpreted, but read as is. I mean, it is written in plain language, and if you really, really read it, you'll realize that there is not much room for interpretation -- unless by "interpretation" you mean "discarding the parts of the Bible that do not agree with own worldview."

That is totally normal. But know what ? I think, if you wish to read non - controversial lecture, you should return to Disney cartoons, like Micky Maus and Donald Duck. Fortunately, there is literature out there for all level of IQ and understanding. Don't take it as a offense imho.
You really should look up "ad hominem attack."

Sorry to tell you, but it seems you have no knowledge of what the scriptures say. I am surprised actually to encounter a bunch of illiterates of the sacred scriptures here, and that do have no idea how to interpret them.
OK, let's follow your line of thinking, as a thought experiment. If the Bible is something that needs to be interpreted, and there are a 100 people reading it who have 100 interpretations (you can see how many interpretations of the Bible there are by looking up the total number of Christian denominations, be it Protestant, Orthodox, Eastern, or Catholic-derived), then how do we know which - if any - interpretation is correct? Do you really think God would screw with our minds so much? Isn't accepting the literal understanding of the Holy Bible the most logical one?

And on top of that, try to teach and question me and my knowledge with a air of superiority, as if arrogance would be a virtue of a christian. Vipers and hypocrites !!
Again ad hominem instead of actual arguments.

I bet i know my bible far better than you do !!
Feel free to provide evidence for this claim. I assume you're reading a Portuguese translation of the Bible, but you know what? The book chapter:verse notation is the same in all languages, so you can look up any verse you want to share here: https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/

and copy+paste it into your reply.

I am still waiting for you to address -- using Biblical support -- the issues of women teaching in church, discarding parts of the Bible that are not "convenient," and also the questions raised by Brother Zechariah, the "nobody is perfect" and "God loves the sinner" things.

I really would love to have an actual Bible-based discussion with you. In your next reply, I hope to see more Scripture and less personal attacks!

        Dear Mary Ethelda

from a true bride of the lord, and sister in Christ, i expect a little-bit more respect with brothers in Christ, guests as my humble me. The fact that some perverts trans-vest them-self as pastors, and abuse the sheep of their church, is not restricted to the country were i live. Rather than search for mutual edification in knowledge and growth in the word of God, you come up with abusive language, and examples, that are a big exception, not the norm, and try to degenerate my countries image. Not a nice behavior. Most or our pastors in Brazil are genuine servants, and take their ministry seriously, with true devotion.

But i can come down to your low level of grotesque accusations, and remember you that some perverts calling them-self pastors exist not only outside of Brazil, but also in your blessed nation. Examples ?

You're not my brother in Christ, and you are anything but humble. I find you to be aggressive, vexatious, and lacking anything resembling humility. You deny the Holy Word of God due honor, and argue that it must mean something that suits your own preconceived moral code. Your rude demeanor I can can overlook, as you are naught more than a product of your breeding, but your attack on Holy Scripture is utterly unjustifiable and completely without excuse. You will find out on the day of Judgement just how far you have strayed from the straight and narrow. I looked it up. This article is a mental exercise on how to twist the Word of God into something that it doesn't say.

Please note that this article cites two out of several Biblical passages which prohibit women from being pastors, and they cite exactly zero (out of zero) Biblical passages that would support a contrary position.

Therefore, I conclude that this article is unchristian because it rejects the teaching of the Bible.

Calm down there, Sparky. The Bible is very clear on this issue. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to recognize you're a false Christian (Matthew 7:16). One merely requires familiarity with the Holy Bible, and faith that It says what It means, and means what It says.

Brilliant deduction, Sister. By this person's logic, we might conclude Jesus never really did exist and is naught but a figment of the imagination, a caricature of humanity assumed to be real by virtue of longstanding acceptance of the claims of the church, simply because someone wrote an article online.

5 good reasons to think Jesus never existed

I can tell you, if I believed everything I read, I would feel like a fool for having devoted my life to love and serve a mythological character no more real than Thor or Zeus or Santa Clause. I would feel like a clown for having convinced myself for years that my imagination was sufficient evidence. I would be ashamed to admit that I had simply assumed secret messages were passed on to me through random events by an invisible god who, despite having constant telekinetic communication with me, never actually communicated with me directly.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

For a young woman you are obviously not very intelligent. You continuously exhibit your lack of knowledge of the Bible and fail to grasp the concept of "You have no rights here" as you do not hold the title of True Christian™

shall we make a analysis of the members here ?

You : a white racist, who mocked about the wonderful country where i live, but lives in the illusion that the usa is the promised land. You live in the most f@@@ up nation, where a third lives on food stamps. I have been in Miami, and seen black men kissing white men on the street, publicly, in front of children and anyone.

i could go on and on. I know my bible well. Shall we see what it has to say about such self-illuded people ?

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

                          take care.

How UN christian of yours, to judge with two weights, and two measures....... and you are judging me of being judgmental. Hypocrite !!
