  • Hello everyone

I'm 42 years and a heathen, I am an ex-drug addict who has whored, lied, stolen, cheated and generally misbehaved in every way possible. I wouldn't call myself religious but really would like a friend.to discuss salvation with.

    Re: Hello everyone

The only friend you need is captured faultlessly within the pages of the KJV Bible and His Name is Jesus.

Have you read the Bible? Not bits and pieces, but all the way through without skipping any parts, even the ones about God sending 2 bears to kill 42 misbehaving children, or where Jesus will come back with a sword sticking out of His Mouth?

Seriously, most churches skip all the cool parts.

    Yours in Christ,

      Re: Hello everyone

Salvation is my favorite topic! You see, the Bible tells us that we have all sinned; we have all committed evil acts (Romans 3:10-18). Because God is perfect and the ultimate in Goodness (Psalm 100:5; Psalm 106:1; Psalm 107:1; Psalm 135:3; 1 Chronicles 16:34; ), He is disgusted and enraged at our sinfulness. Essentially, He can’t stand us, and because He is God, He doesn’t have to because no one can make Him. He has decided that we deserve nothing less than eternal torture, and pain, and agony for having made a perfect God uncomfortable with the way we are not similarly perfect. The only appropriate punishment for sins committed against an infinite and eternal God is an infinite and eternal punishment (Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:11-15). This is why God created Hell. It’s only fair after all.

But check it out, Jesus Christ came to earth and died in our place! He didn’t have to do so, but He chose to do so. Jesus and God worked out The Ultimate Plan (2 Corinthians 5:21) because they’re pretty tight, being the Same Person (John 10:30), yet Different Persons (John 17:1). This plan was decided some time before we were ever born. It doesn’t really matter, since we probably wouldn’t have been consulted anyway, but They/He decided that Jesus would die temporarily to pay the penalty for our sins (Romans 5:8) so that God could forget all about them (Isaiah 65:17; Isaiah 43:25). Jesus paid the penalty He determined He (as God) required just so that we would not have to. Wasn’t that sweet?!?

Jesus' resurrection from the dead just goes to show that His death was sufficient to pay the penalty for our sins. No mere human could have done that, thus proving Jesus is the one and only Savior (John 14:6; Acts 4:12)!

Now, if I were to offer advice, I would suggest you start reading the Holy Bible, all of it. We know that "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). So to be safe, perhaps you should read the Holy Bible out loud so you can also hear it. Then you will have faith, and then you can be Saved!
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Everyone is a sinner (except True Christian(tm)).

1st John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
Revelation 1:5 "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood"
1st John 3:9 "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

You have certainly came to the right place, my good woman. This is God's favourite forum and you'll find many here who will help you learn to read the Bible(KJV1611).

You see, Jesus gave us the Good Book to live by because it is His very Mind given Word in paper form.

2nd Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"
Deuteronomy 4:2 "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."
Revelation 22:18-19 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
Psalm 12:6-7 "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever".

What has made you seek out the muscular embrace of the Good Lord Jesus Christ Our Lord?

        YIC
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Tell me friend, what have you done for Jesus?

All roads to Heaven are a two way street. The last thing you want to find is Gods 'Operation Strike Force' there turning you around straight to HELL!

I always smile when I think of Jesus teaching those naughty children a lesson.

What a friend we have in Jesus! Even a godless wretch like you can be saved, friend. All you have to do is reach out and you will be saved through the love of Jesus Christ. This will be achieved through the renouncing of your past sins, accepting Jesus as your personal savior and following the rules as specified in God's word, the Holy Bible. There are a lot of rules, but the good news is that once you accept Jesus in your heart, you will want to follow the rules. Shout Glory!

                      Re: Hello everyone

                      Brother Deicide,

It is time to remove the first "I" from your name. Yes, it is time to decide. Decide for CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 informs us that NOW is the day of salvation. Let me speak to you about this for a brief momentum.

This passage appears in the middle of Paul's discourse exhorting the Corinthians to turn from sin and live holy before God. In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul wrote concerning the resurrection and subsequent judgement of each soul according to the things done in the body. He implores them on Christ's behalf to: "be reconciled to God" (2 Cor. 5:21). And in the sixth chapter he exhorts them to do this "NOW." What is "now?"

Webster defines "now" as: "at the present time or moment." In 2 Cor. 6:2, nun is translated "now" denoting the "present time." To exemplificate the meaning of nun, notice Matthew's record of the reviling toward Jesus upon the cross: "'He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God'" (Matt. 27:42-42). The Joos wanted to see Jesus come down from the cross now, immediately - not a day, week, or month later.

Joos are terribly impatient by nature. It is one of the reasons, according to science, that they have hooked noses. All the impatience causes their noses to snarl and deform themselves. Awful. But anyway:

This lesson is also expressed in the usage of parachrema which is translated "immediately" and "at once." Parachrema is a word favored by Luke as he writes from a historical view emphasizing order and time. Luke often uses this word to express the immediacy of miracles. But one of the best examples of parachrema is in Luke 22:60 wherein Luke records Peter's third denial of Jesus saying: "'Man, I do not know what you are saying!' And immediately, while he was still speaking, the cock crowed." I am paraphrasing here so you can understand in case you are a retarded.

Luke describes the time frame of events between Peter's denial and the rooster crowing - parachrema, immediately. And notice, Peter had not completed his denial of Jesus before the cock crowed. The cock of Peter stands in great significantness. As it rose, inspired by GOD to provide a signal to Peter, this bold cock sounded out a reminder that Peter had denied the very Christ who had shown such deep, indwelling love. You might say that the cock is our reminder even today that it is time to stop denying who we are. What does YOUR cock remind you of? I hope it is reminding you of Jesus. But I digress.

Throughout the Bible we see individuals rendering immediate obedience to God, but the word parachrema appears in only one record of conversion. In Acts 16 we find Paul and Silas in the inner prison praying and singing psalms at midnight. There was a great earthquake shaking the foundation of the prison during which the prison doors were opened and prisoner's chains were loosed. Luke describes the time frame of these events with parachrema saying: "immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed" (Acts 16:26). This wasn't some TV prison break, friend. This was the HAND of GOD.

Later that night Paul and Silas spoke the word of the Lord to the jailor and his household. Then Luke again uses the word parachrema to describe their obedience saying: "And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized" (Acts 16:33). Even then, the Baptist church was open for business. Hallelujah! Now think: when you are in prison some day, don't you want the Hand of God to loosen your chains? This will not happen if you do not obey our Savior's commands to confess your sins - in fact, you should provide us with all the graphic details of them so we can better pray for you.

It is human nature to procrastinate. But when it comes to obedience to God, there is no room for procrastination. Obedience to the Lord should be immediate - no man is promised tomorrow. Not even you.

Now is the day of salvation! Tomorrow is the day of . . .???????

                      Oh COME, LORD JESUS!
