Why do so many American Christians support Wars?

This is a thing that I cannot understand... Why is this happening.

Is that American exceptionalism "Jesus says to love your enemies, but we are Americans and therefore get to kill millions of people"?

But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

As a European I'd just like to say that this makes Christians everywhere look like absolute Hypocrites... Overthrowing governments, letting Islamists run wild and Chsitians be beheaded after. This is a disgrace.

For someone who comes to this Godly site spouting banalities and unrelated claims about the results of righteous Christian indignation and the damnation of the wicked by the will of Almighty God, you are very rude. If you were having a pleasant conversation on one of your quaint cobblestoned streets and I came up and barged into your little group, would you think me rude?

This is a site maintained by Christians for fellowship and praise. All who follow the Jesus road are welcome, but we do ask a proper introduction. What is your congregation? Who is your Pastor? What is your given name? How many are your sons? What revolver do you favor? How did you come to be saved? All of your story is important to us, so tell it all. Leave out no detail, no matter how disgusting, perverted or loathsome.

God loves war:

Exodus 15:3 The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.

The Old Testament gives us very detailed directions on how to treat the infidels:

Deuteronomy 20:13-18
13 And when the Lord thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:
14 But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.
15 Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations.
16 But of the cities of these people, which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:
17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee:
18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the Lord your God.

And just in case you want to cry that Old Testament doesn't count (even though Jesus said it does, Matthew 5:17), here's what Jesus says:

Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

There are too many places in the Bible (KJV 1611) that tell us this to mention.


Exodus 23:4


“¶ If thou meete thine enemies oxe or his asse going astray, thou shalt surely bring it backe to him againe.”
