    Thank you

Hi, I'm Lotso (Or if you want the real name, Steven Lynchwood). Originally, I came here to understand the bible and to find reasoning. However, two things have made me realize that I was not on the right path:

First off, I finished the KJV and started to read through again, interpreting verses so that I knew what was right and what was wrong. It was one verse that made me forget about finding answers:

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." (Proverbs, 3:5)

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but this verse says to me that I don't need to understand. All I need is trust and faith, which I am gladly willing to display!

The second thing that helped me was, in fact, a member of this church: Mary Etheldreda. Mary, if you are reading this, I want to thank you for responding to my question a few weeks ago. It really made me determined to finish reading my KJV, which in turn led me to read it again, taking each line into careful consideration. I believe your intervention played a big part in me finding my faith, and to that, I say God bless you

Anyways, I'm not here to cause any trouble, I just wish to praise and to see what I can change to get into heaven. I hope you all have a good day.

    Yours in Christ,
    Steven (Lotso)

      Amen, dear!

In order to truly accept God's Word you need to reject logic and rational thinking. These two evils can only take you astray from the !

      1 Cor 1:19-21
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

We all have to be fools to make Jesus happy:

      1 Cor 4:9-10
9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

God created fossils to test our faith.

        Hi Steven,

I greet you kindly in the Name of our risen LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. To clarify, not Nazareth PA, but the one over in Israel near Burkina Faso.

NO, NO, NO, the verse you quote does not mean that you should not attempt to understand. It means you should not depend on your own understanding. It means you should abandon logic, abandon all the theoretical and hyperbolic ramblings that secular society tries to lay on you.

It means that you trust GOD and His True Christian(TM) people, most of whom are found in these forums. I assure you that any Biblical teaching presented here is based SOLELY on the King James Version (1611) of God's Holy Word and the unction of the Holy Spirit that moves upon the pastors and teachers here. We share TRUTH with you, not lies. We share BIBLICAL DOCTRINE with you, not the ramblings of money hungry pastors who are out for one thing and one thing only - your tithe.

While we are on the subject of tithing, it IS a very important part of your Salvation(R) and should not be ignored.

Please continue to ask questions. We are always right, and we will provide answers for you that will lead you to the gates of Heaven where Jesus Himself will greet you with His Nail Scarred Hand(C).

May the LORD bless you and keep you in His care.

        BrotherLarry

Well bless you, dear! It wasn't me of course, for no good deed comes from a person, but only the Holy Spirit can do good. I am but a vessel if His Glory, a flesh puppet if you will, stuffed not with polyester, but blood and bones and muscle and sinew. He pulls the strings and I dance! I Glorify Him because He first Glorifies Himself! If you are serious about repenting, you would offer the sinner's prayer and confess your faith to Christ Jesus. There's no specific prayer to be said, but whatever comes to your heart, for this is the Holy Spirit talking. Certainly you don't want to get in the way of the Holy Spirit talking to Himself in the form of Jesus up in Heaven where you can't see Him but He can see you. It might sound something like this,

          Dear Jesus,

I just confess my sins to you. I confess that I am nothing but a giant, walking, talking purse made out of human skin, filled with blood and bones and muscle and sinew, and I offer my services to You, my Savior. Reach deep into me and pull out what You need. Let me serve You in whatever way Glorifies You. I recognize that I'm nothing. I'm even lower than a flesh-bag, for even a bag can have more value than I without Salvation.

Jesus, I know that until I confess my sins, my waste of oxygen and precious resources on this planet used to fuel my need for immediate self-gratification rendered me less than a bag of blood and bones. You saw in me nothing but rebellion and selfishness. I was naught but Satan's boy-toy. I was, in your eyes, nothing more than a disgusting pile of granny's ancient menstrual rags, attracting flies and rats and sinners alike (Isaiah 64:6). It is with this utter disdain that you see me, and rightfully so. I hate myself and beg you to create in me a new creature, one that is not me, but a flesh-sack temple, animated by Your Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19).

Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord. I shall call you "Master" all the days of my life. Like the Apostle Paul before me, I am Your slave, do with me what You will. You redeemed me when I was naught more than a festering pile of blood and muscle, walking around this earth appeasing Satan. You Saved me, and I will be forever grateful for sparing me the eternal punishment You created for me in the beginning of time in case I never did accept Your gift. Let me Praise You all my days, and change my heart to respond only to You.

          In Jesus' name I pray.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! PS: Do you have any sisters?
Thank you for clearing this up for me, Brother Larry. It really is good to know that I have a place to turn to should I think that an interpretation I have made may be wrong. It's good to know that here I will hear the truth here.

And no, I have no siblings at all, in fact. Though I have always wanted a brother or sister.

Also, Basilissa, what you say is true. I've found that logic just gets in the way, and belief in God is all that I need. I'm glad I found this website, as without it, I believe many of the Bible's messages would've gone right over my head if I had not read some of the forums here. It really is a great place to find out how to strengthen your relationship with God!

Mary, I will make sure to make a prayer of that kind as soon as humanly possible. It truly is great that God spoke to me through you, and I really could not be more thankful. It's like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders now that I have accepted Christ.

And finally, Thomas, there really isn't much to my journey. I began reading a modernised bible, but something about it felt horribly wrong. I later looked to the KJV and found that it seemed to feel almost natural to me. Though some verses confused me at first, the conformation that logic really doesn't matter in the case of the bible made me want to devote myself to praising Christ.

I just want to thank you all for being so accepting despite the mistakes I have made. It truly is great to have somewhere to turn to.

Please do share, which Bible verses speak to you the most? Maybe the detailed description of how to proceed when a woman is raped (Deuteronomy 22:25-29)? Or maybe the instructions how to proceed with a God Approved(tm) genocide (Deuteronomy 7:2-6)? Or maybe the heart-warming storied of God Approved(tm) human sacrifice (Judges 11:30-40)? Or the stories of incestuous rape where the perpetrator is the True Victim(tm) (2 Samuel 13)? Or maybe what speaks to you the most are the passages which show that we True Christians(tm) are truly special, as we are in the tiny minority of humanity that will be Saved(tm) (Matthew 7:13-14, John 3:16-18)?

Whichever it is, praise for taking away the delusion from you (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)!

There is nothing you can change. There is nothing at all you can do in this arena because you are not the active party.

The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened that ye may know what is the hope of his calling & what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

God's power and authority exceed the capabilities of human language to express. However strongly we word our demands, however imperative the mood of our utterances, however forceful our armies may be these are all rendered passive in His presence. A command from God is not something that's "followed" as such. When He said "Let there be Light!" did the light debate among its wavelengths whether to shine? No. It shone. When He calls us we are powerless against His Command and we turn to Him.

                  EPHESIANS 1 . KJV . look up
                  2
In time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works lest any man should boast.
10a For we are his workmanship

God has not called everyone in that way. The Israelites are a good example. They had the opportunity but elected to obsess over idols and debauch themselves at every opportunity, except occasionally. Eventually they miffed God to such an extent that He had the Romans flick them out of the promised land and cast off they wandered as unloved things in their wretchedness for 2,000 years. There has been nothing they could change and now God is speaking again. Heathen nations melt away and Israel is a land again. Hallelujah!!

God's word is so powerful that your greatest effort to change is less than the wind. You can change nothing. All you can do is be changed. Let go and let God.
