    Dear Tombstone,

You'll notice Catholic priests are addressed as "father."

The Bible is telling you not to have anything to do with Catholics.

    Hope this helps.

I don't see how you can take "Call no man father" literally in view of the fact that in Scripture, some men are called father:1 John 2:13–14

          Miss Stone,

          Read this please:

13 I write vnto you, fathers, because yee haue knowen him that is from the beginning. I write vnto you, young men, because you haue ouercome the wicked one. I write vnto you, little children, because yee haue knowen the Father.
14 I haue written vnto you, fathers, because ye haue knowen him that is from the beginning. I haue written vnto you, young men, because yee are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and yee haue ouercome the wicked one

As you are, by this time, already aware John was only writing down what he was told to by God. God is writing to the fathers of countless children all over the world telling them to live His Word and to pass His Word onto their young men so that if they Believe then they shall overcome the Devil. It's all very clear right there in front of your very eyes.

Be careful, heathen, a post pasted is a post you wasted.
          Isaiah 66:15

For behold, the Lord wil come with fire, and with his charets like a whirlewinde, to render his anger with furie, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

            Dear,

while your enthusiasm is deeply appreciated, our church does not accept money without knowing where it's been first. Our Department of Faith hasn't finished doing its background check on you yet, and it may still take a while. You cannot buy your way into God's favorite church!

In the meantime, you are encouraged to post wisely.

I disagree. I don't think that it is a waste to post a reference to 1 John 2:13–14IMHO, it is not a waste to discuss any passage in Holy Scripture.

                Asked and answered!

Kindly refer to Mary Etheldreda's response to your question. As sister Etheldreda so succinctly put it, scripture is God-breathed. You are not.

Therefore, scripture can do things you can't. Like refer to a man as "father."

Also, there is a difference between making the factual assertion that a man happens to be a father, vs. addressing him by the honorific title of "father."

Perhaps you might be able to grasp that difference, and how it pertains to this conversation?

I can grasp the difference, but I don't see how it pertains to this conversation about the Biblical passage because the Bible says: Call no man father. I don't see where the Bible makes any distinction between the two. That is why I would not agree that every passage in the Bible must be taken literally. IMHO, Biblical passages should be taken in context and with proper reflection.

All the more reason for you to read the Bible, and seek to better understand the context of that verse.

I'm glad we're reading off the same page, brother!

Say, if you'd like to talk about the Bible with me, perhaps we could Skype some time?

I got a message from you indicating that you are giving me a citation and an infraction for being vexatious. Further, you say that unless I apologize, I will lose my posting privileges and be banned. Well, at a certain point, a person has to take a stand for what is right. I stand by what I wrote and believe it to be completely correct and without error and so I certainly will not apologize to you or to anyone else for something like that.

What? Has someone dared to give you a good telling off? Shame, poor little one. Suck it up and get with the program boy. Take good advice from the admin when you get it.

I still pray you will see the Light and learn that you can be loved.
