So I joined to be a part of a discussion pertaining to belief and all encompassing issues tied to it. I'm an atheist and anti theist who still finds respect for other people who may not share my ideals. The most interesting thing about this site, and your views, is your complete submission to the fundamentalist approach. Believe it or not, I respect that approach above all others but the flip side to that is I find it the hardest to understand. More about all that as the discussion blooms. Anyway, I'm not here to be disruptive or disrespectful and I hope you all afford me the same.

Re: Why am I here?
Oh good! Then you'll understand why we don't have any interest in hearing what you have to say, as we've been commanded to ignore the likes of you by our Loving Savior (1 Corinthians 5:13). However, if you mind your manners and agree to pray about your Salvation, you may just be allowed to stick around a while.Originally posted by NoGoodDeed... to our Godly forum!
It would be great if you could find some time in your busy schedule to read the Holy Bible. This way, you could actually participate in our discussions in an informed manner. Otherwise, you will be wasting your time and ours. As an added bonus, if you actually read all of the Holy Bible, you will have achieved more than most people who call themselves "Christian," and who think that agreeing to being a Christian is like agreeing to service terms - just scroll down and click without reading.
I hope that was helpful. I will pay for your soul.

Why are you here, you ask? That is a good question. Your first comment reveals that you are anti theist. That means you oppose people who believe in an all powerful God. That would be the members of this godly forum. In other words, you are against us. Are you some kind of inept spy, or what?God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11

Re: Why am I here?
Thank you stopping by. Other True Christians™ have wisely advised you to read the Bible.
You have a healthy curiosity about us and I would like to explain one part of our theology. We are experts on sin. We see it, we identify it and we condemn sinners. That is why our site is so popular, people are better for our talks with them about their sins.
And, we can help you. A good place to start is with your misguided and uninformed atheism. If you confess that you are wrong about that and accept Jesus your future is not a bleak as it appears to you at this moment.Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

A complete submission is nothing less than what The Lord commands in His Word.Originally posted by NoGoodDeed... One of the most famous Bible stories discussed here is that of Abraham's near sacrifice of Issac.
The whole point of the story is that when God asks you to jump, (or kill your child) you ask "How high?" or you sharpen your knife and get down to business.
Weak minded fluffy bunny Christians are quick to point out that Abraham did not actually end up killing Issac as if that somehow negates the reality of the situation as experienced by either Abraham or Issac.
A clear minded person accepts the fact that it was The Lord who stopped Abraham from following through with slitting his son's throat and then burning the child's corpse on an altar.
It was God Who ordered Abraham to kill his own son, and it was God Who stopped it. Abraham wasn't going to.
This patriarch of old is the first model of obedience set forth before followers of three major world religions.
Any person who would not take a blade to their child's throat and slit the kid ear to ear if so commanded by God has no right to call themselves a follower or believer of the One True God described in the Bible.
Claims to love God are garbage if one refuses to obey God in all things or withholds from God the highest level of devotion.
Yes, this is fundamentalism. God comes first. Nothing must be allowed to stand in the way of one's active worship of Him.
The sincere and committed believer must be willing to die for his Deity. He must also be willing to kill. That means anyone, for any reason that God may require.
If someone knows in their heart that they could not kill their own child if so commanded by Holy God, they may as well turn in their Bibles or other sacred texts and stop wasting everyone's time.
I can understand why that perspective might be hard to understand from outside the fundamentalist mindset. It is well that you respect it. Certainly, you do not want to make the mistake of underestimating it.
A man who is willing to kill his own child for his faith is not a man to be taken lightly. His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

Re: Why am I here?
Hi .
. Welcome to the forum
I've heard that atheists are fascinated by science. Like many people you are dazzled by things you don't understand and I'm happy to direct you to a source of knowledge about the world you live in which includes science, yes, but also warns us that there are people who make false claims.—.if they've studied their subject they must therefore be lying.—.as the following references make clear:
DANIEL 1:1n, 3-6 Nebuchadnezzar…spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes…in whom was no blemish but well favoured and skilful in all wisdom and cunning in knowledge and understanding science and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: .. kjv
I TIMOTHY 6:20-21a ..keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. .. look up .. kjv
From the moment of creation God understood that we need instruction in matters we could not otherwise understand and provided scientific knowledge for us so that as we looked at the wonderful world he'd made for us we should not, through ignorance, arrive at false conclusions. That is a path of destruction He did not desire for us but, as we now see all too well, the first humans decided to reject God's way resulting in death, hopelessness and despair. Christians have accepted God's remedy which I will point out is not something we'd have thought up for ourselves and Christians therefore know peace, joy and Salvation where on all sides there is only ruin and hopelessness.
Being a realist I can see how you might have found God's instruction manual for life confronting but once you surrender to Jesus the objections melt away as He shows you how to trust and obey. If you would like to accept Him into your life, do contact one of The Pastors who will explain in more detail.
