Hello and to our forum, Clive!

So, please, tell us something about yourself. What church do you go to, which is your favorite Bible verse, and how did you find Jesus?

Hello and thank you for replying! My favorite verse is old testament 1:1, it was the first verse read to me for some reason and thus i have a strong memory of it! I growed up on a farm and was a christian since birth. I go to northbrook baptist church!

You made it that far into the Bible? I'm impressed.

Apparently not. (Hint: you reference verses by book. Old Testament is not a single book).

I growed up on a farm
It shows. Lemme guess: you've been homeschooled, huh?

and was a christian since birth.
But, at what age did you understand that Jesus loves you so much that He temporarily died for you to save you from eternal punishment He created?

Anyone who references their favorite verse as Old Testament 1:1 is obviously lacking in biblical knowledge. It's apparent that your need to fit in has taken an almost impatient turn on these forums. For now you are unsaved trash. But fear not, with biblical education from the many True Christians on this forum, you can be saved. I urge you to actually read the Bible and not just claim that you did. Especially when you cannot mention a real verse. Even Didymus Much, an atheist filth has read the entire bible front and back and knows more than you do. Quite sad indeed.

I'm also quite familiar with Pastor Tom at Northbrook baptist church in Alabama and I can easily ask him if there is really a Clive Jenkins attending his services regularly if you continue to persist your ignorance.

Would that be Northbrook Baptist Church in Cullman, AL? Here is that that church teaches about salvation:

I'm not going to quibble over that; sure, it's unconventional but would work just fine for Genesis 1. If I was witnessing to heathens I may well say to read The Bible and that right there in the first chapter, in the very first verse, God tells us He made the world and everything in it.

The stars. The sun and moon. Worms. Yes there it is on page 1, .I could say ...and turning over the page to Chapter 2 etc. .which I think would be a valid way to witness. There is a Biblical witness to the Hebrews which runs along similar lines, even more vague at times.

In the first verse, the author explains the subject matter quite clearly. It's a great verse:

                HEBREWS .KJV . look up
                1
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Maybe that wasn't the best example because we really need verse 2 as well.

                HEBREWS .KJV
                2
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds

OPTION 1 This reference links in with Clive Jenkins' verse and leads on to some very encouraging passages in chapters 5 and 6.
Firstly in chapter 6 we read:

CHAPTER 6 .KJV . look up
                17-20
God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

The Hebrews obsessed over the words to such an extent that they forgot what they meant. It was unnecessary for the author to quote chapter and verse in every case because intended readers would be familiar with the text.

CHAPTER 5 .KJV . look up
                5-6
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

There are a number of amazing claims confirmed in what I've posted. 1) God does not tell lies so we can be absolutely certain that 2) He created everything including the fact of 3) Jesus being His son, achieved by 4) a process of begetting.

PSALM 2 .KJV . look up
                7
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

OPTION 2 How do we know that Jesus made the worlds? That is, how do we know He is God's son and is our high priest presenting His own sacrifice before God so that we no longer need priests and yet receive Salvation? For the Hebrews, it's a matter of prophecy fulfilled. Here is their prophecy:

PSALM 2 .KJV . look up
                7
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

This reference links in with Clive Jenkins' verse and leads on to some very encouraging passages in chapters 5 and 6.
                In chapter 5 we read:

HEBREWS 5 .KJV . look up
                5
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

The Hebrews obsessed over the words to such an extent that they forgot what they meant. It was unnecessary for the author to quote chapter and verse because every intended reader would be familiar with the text.

HEBREWS 6 .KJV . look up
                17
Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
                19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Without the first verse of The Old Testament we would not appreciate that Jesus is God. The connection with Hebrews is particularly encouraging for me, and for Clive Jenkins perhaps too, because the principle of God's inability to lie is very easily refuted.

..All that's needed is a single falsehood.

....No heathen has ever managed to produce one!

                ..Thank you Jesus

                Thank you Lord

To his credit, at least he's likely been homeschooled, and not already brainwashed by sciencism, evilution and other peverted subjects they teach in public school. Already kids as young as six are learning what "bottoming" means! What DOES it mean? It's scary.

It's so refreshing to know that little Clivey here is smarter than any old scientist. Now he just needs to direct that supple little mind of his to Jesus.
