    My Introduction

    Greetings,

A little bit in the way of introduction, My name is David and I attend the Crossroads Baptist Church in Bailey's Crossroad Virginia.
I have been saved for only a couple of months. A favorite verse that I have had a great deal of admiration for is

    2 Corinthians 6:14-17

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
I chose this verse because as a young Christian, I have come to find out that I should not have anything to do with anything that is of this sinful world.

My reasoning for coming to LBC is to learn what it means to be a True Christian. I promise before Jesus Christ to know my place in this Church and to obey those who are in authority. Thank Jesus for Churches like this.

    Sincerely,

    David White

So, I pulled up your church's website, and it appears to be a NIGRO church! Are you white (as your name implies) or Nigro?
Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

Welcome to our friendly forums, Mr. White! I look forward to hearing your testimony, dear. How did you come to find Jesus in this Dark and Dreary world?

I like your favorite Bible Verse very much myself. What a wonderful moral guidance the entire Holy Word is, but how helpful to have specifics like this. Tell us, which of Jesus' many Love Languages do you find most successful when rebuking the sinners in your corner of the world?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

          Re: My Introduction

          Dear Ms Etheldreda,

Thank you for your kind welcome. Before finding Jesus, I had gone through the motions, if you will. I did everything possible to do things my own way. I found out that was a big mistake and decided to do things the right way and find Jesus.

The reason I chose the verses I did was it was a reminder to me that I have no business carrying on with the worldly people and that I needed to separate myself from the things of this world and please Jesus by focusing on Him.

Now that I am here, I wish to further my training and do what needs to be done to carry on the Lord's work.

          Sincerely,

          Dave

Hi .. Welcome to the forum and to a community where you can share your new-found appreciation of the wonderful world God made for us to live in and every rotten thing that's happened by the sin which brought us down.

The Bible explains that only Jesus can lift us up but so many false "churches" make up new claims about God, what He accepts and what He condemns, even embracing abominations (described so plainly by God) as great and marvellous things. No-one has to believe God but to set oneself up as His spokesperson and then contradict Him is the height of blasphemy. Very easy to assess, that!

But so many people have been hoodwinked, if Bible denying pulpit snakes are any indication. You can rely on The Pastors here to provide correct Scripture in words that are easy to understand.

Thank you, MitzaLizalor, for your insights. I'll keep your thoughts in mind. Sadly, you are right about the false Churches in this world. I don't doubt that God brought me here for a reason and I pray that I will understand more in time. The last thing I need is to be involved with a Church who blasphemes Jesus Christ.
              Sincerely,

                    Basilissa,

If you're following God's orders as the aforementioned verses then I can't see how that's being snobbish. As far as Jesus is concerned, sinners can't and don't have an opinion.

                    Ms Etheldreda,

Thank you again for your kind welcome. Looking forward to some great fellowship.

I doubt if Sister Mary Etheldreda would oblige dear, even if she could (and had the authority to do so). This is because there is a lesson to be learned here, which is one that carries over into everyday life. It is this: it is wise to read one's posts before hitting that "Submit" button. By extension, one should engage one's brain before opening one's mouth.

I hope that helps, dear? And I very much look forward to getting to know you better.

Christians are not joos There are no 'do overs'. You live according to the KJV Bible and Gods commands. If you make a mistake, it goes into your permanent record and is used on Judgement Day(r) to decide your fate. Very simple system, like everything Christian. WWJD?
