Are you sure you’re a Christian Emily? Anyone who can read knows that it means what it says. After Baasha died, he was buried in the same place as his ancestors. What deeper meaning are you looking for? In literal terms it is as I explain. Not really sure what you’re hoping to pull out from that specific verse.

As for being hot in rooms, do what my teachers do and open a window. If you’re going through menopause then please stay in your menstra-hut until the mood swings die off.

Were you hit on the head with a coconut? The Bible was written for the simplest of person (yes, even women) to understand, written using plain words meaning what it says and saying what it means.

3 Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

7 And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the Lord against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the Lord, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
8 In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
9 And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah.
10 And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.

Emily, dear, don't be so terrified: yes we all have to die - yes, even your father. The thought of his upcoming death should make you sad, but you should not despair to the extent that you describe. It's the natural order of life, for children to bury their parents. At you age, you are actually very lucky that your father is still alive. Since you are 74 years old, he must be over 90, am I right?

Also, you need to start thinking about arrangements, when your father sleeps with his fathers, do you know where you are going to bury him? The time to make these arrangements is now, dear, so that you won't have to be worrying about that when his corpse will already begin to rot.

Have you considered cremation? Remember that if he's accepted Christ but dies before His return there is a resurrection to look forward to.

I Thessalonians 4:14-17 If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

You need to ask a Pastor whether ashes can remain integrated sufficiently to meet Christ under those circumstances.

Dear Miss Brent: Kindly cease and desist from playing the blame game. Your very poor attempt to blame the for your willful, wretched sins has not gone unnoticed here at . Instead of blaming the for what He has written in --
II Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" -- you need to accept that your horrid sins are the cause of your confusion. What you need to do, really, is to accept this, and to admit that you are accountable for those disgusting sins, and to REPENT.

Matthew 12:36,37:
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Perhaps it's the heat confusing her. I read both chapters and it's clear that Baasha's father is Ahijah. He didn't have two daddies or anything such as had wrought havoc around that time but resolved under King Asa in Judah..

I Kings 15:11-12 Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, as did David his father. And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

God was very unhappy with things under the Kings of Israel (during Asa's reign in Judah) so that not only they but all their children were killed. Baasha was one of them. God's standard is perfect and even if by human standards a gilded idol or a sodomy temple seems fashionable, by God's standard they are not. Utter annihilation of the culprits themselves and all their children is recorded in The Bible as appropriate in such cases and is also a fulfilment of prophecy. God announced what was going to happen. Then it happened. For reprobates however, even those afflicting the sword on previous miscreants—and their families—that was not a disincentive. They just kept making idols and hanging around unseemly pickup joints. If God's standard is always consistent, we can be certain it's reliable.

Titus 1:15-16 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Well, based on both the quality and quantity of posts produced by this poor soul, we can safely conclude one thing: she is not in danger of committing the sin of being smart!
