  • Open to persuasion

having something of a crisis of faith at the moment ive already posted on several threads already. Ive never really thought much about god to be honest but i do feel something is missing, but in all the religions ive looked at i have found ideologies that i have agreed and disagreed with. So as the title suggest im open to persuasion.

Read the 1611 King James Bible. It has all the answers you need. If you read an entire KJV and are not a Christian afterwards than either you are 1) mentally retarded, 2) a God-hating evil person or 3) both.

      Um, ideologies you agree with?

God is who He is, not who you want Him to be.

He created the Universe, you didn't.

It is not for you (or any human) to agree or disagree with God, but merely to obey.

Where did you get the idea that you should pick and choose religions like you pick and choose outfits? Jesus may have been pinned to a cross, but He is no mere fashion accessory!

You either believe in God, or you do not. Any one of the false religions of the world will tell you the same, that their false gods are the only gods. (That's how you know they're lying, because they ignore the One True God -- Father, Son, and Holy Ghost -- for their made-up god or multiple gods.)

It is clear, since you want something you can agree with, that you do not actually believe in anything other than your own imagination. So, since you're going to Hell anyway why don't you at least be intellectually honest and call yourself a secular humanist or something?

          I asked you a question.

Why do you think that you can pick and choose religion the way you choose an outfit?

Why do you think that religions are for you to agree or disagree with?

Either God is real, or He is not. That's not a matter of opinion, it's a factual matter. He is, or He is not.

If He is real, then you will either obey or you will go to Hell. You don't have to like what God commands in His Word, but you DO have to obey.

Choosing a false religion, like Islam or Hinduism or Wicca, will also get you to Hell.

If God is not real, then believing or not believing in Him, or in Cthulhu, or Allah, or Native American Spirit Guides, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, will have no effect and would be a waste of your time and effort.

So, the question before you is not whether you like a particular religion's ideology -- which means you're just looking for an accessory to add to yourself, and that you have no actual faith -- but whether you believe God is real or not.

            Hi OMA!
            Welcome to God's favorite forum.
There is a possibility for you to be saved, which is why we have bothered so far! But as Rev. Jim said, you need to start reading your KJV Bible. You will find all the answers there - I have!

Just a hint - If you want anyone to take you seriously on here, I suggest you post with the proper punctuation and use your "Caps" in the appropriate places!

Doubt is a sad thing and the end result is often a loss of faith. This then leads directly to iniquitous behavior and the cracking open of the Gates of Hell. So let us look at the possibilities:

              • You become an atheist and damn your soul, and very probably the souls of your offspring, to Eternal suffering in burning darkness
              • You scour The Bible for passages with which you feel you can live. You then construct your beliefs around these and insist that others behave as you do. This creates a god identical to yourself. This is False Christianity and damns your soul, and very probably the souls of your offspring, to Eternal suffering in burning darkness.
              • You accept Jesus into your heart in the manner in which He wished. This means accepting every one of God’s Holy Words as revealed in KJV1611 and that you hold, without reservation, to the following: "The Holy Bible, KJV1611, was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.” (Whereas, none can be sure of a seat at the Right Hand of God, this gives you the very best chance – what other reward could a Merciful God give to His Faithful Servant?)

Yes, I know that God’s choice of entrant to Heaven is a little arbitrary, e.g. in the story of Lazarus, the rich man, who didn’t seem to have done anything wrong, was sent to hell just for being rich, and Jesus and His Followers were not exactly poor* but obviously got there. Yet this should never put anyone off at least trying!

OK? So the next thing we here at Landover need to read is, “Thank you, I have read all about God as per the KJV Bible, I agree with it and all Landover has explained to me and thus I accept Christ into my heart without reservation.”

Do you think you could do that?

*We know this as (i) He refers to the poor in the 3rd person and (ii) He constantly says words to the effect of “God will provide.”, (iii) a well catered Last Supper, etc.
