What I do to have a relationship with God is pretty much unrelated to what Grok the caveman did to have a relationship with God. I call myself a witch because it has roots in the old word for "wisdom," and wisdom is what I am seeking: the wisdom of God. And before you say it, I know, I should read the Bible to find that. Well, I already have, and I'm sorry to offend you, but I am seeking it in other places as well. I don't think that the historical or archeological record indicates what is the best religion for me. I know that many pagans claim to be following ancient religions, but I do not.

Well, sir, I have posted some questions in what I hope to be the appropriate forum. I have a question concerning a bit of Scripture, however, that you could probably help me with:

"On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come for the righteous, but sinners." -Matthew 9:12-13

This is but one of several examples in which Jesus asks for his followers to be merciful, and points out that it is the sinful who are in need of him. Why, then, do the Christians of this community and others like it, act so mercilessly? I understand that there are other scriptures which call for punishment and murder, but if Jesus himself asserted these principles of mercy and inclusion, and we are all sinners, why then would any "True Christian" reject being Christ-like for following the Old Testament? By killing the sinful, are you being merciful? Are you taking the sick to the doctor, so to speak, or slitting their throats for falling ill? I ask because I am surprised to be receiving open death threats from True Christians. As a sinner, am I not deserving instead of mercy?

Why is "Saved" copyrighted? Honestly.

And you can't be serious if you call on the First Amendment to defend your apparent practice of killing people who refuse to convert to your trademarked religion. The American government was founded on the principle that all human beings have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They go in that order because that is their order of importance. Your liberty to obey God is secured in so long as it does not interfere with my right to life. This is the principle behind any government. It is the reason people first formed societies! We came together to agree not to kill each other for the mutual benefits of all. So if you want the right to kill me because God told you to, you're going to have to topple the Republic and replace it with some sort of theocracy. Right now you are living in a secular representative democracy. If you'd like to live under the rule of a theocracy, may I suggest Israel or Iran?

Also, you didn't answer my question, merely restated what has already been told to me. I get it, guys: If I give you even the tiniest hint of who I am or where I live you'll hunt me down and kill me for being not like you. I GET IT, LET'S MOVE ON. Tell me why God is telling you to kill people but when Jesus called for mercy he was just kidding.

How are we not merciful? When crimes against God are once again capital crimes in this nation, it will be merciful. When sodomites, witches, adulterers, rebellious children, furries, and others find themselves on death row, they will be able to look forward to a quick and relatively painless legal execution by either firing squad or lethal injection instead of being stoned or burned at the stake.
If that's not merciful, I don't know what is.
