Before I get started I just want to share with you that my grandfather is a retired Pastor of over 40 years and my dad has been an Elder at my current church for 10 years. I know what I am talking about.

I've been reading over these forums for about an hour now and I am appalled that you folks call yourselves Christians. It breaks my heart to see the hate flooding this board. No wonder people hate Christians so much. You are all so judgmental and so full of hate. I just got done reading the introduction by a guy who said he was black and I was completely stunned by the cotton picking comments thrown his way.

Matt. 22:36-40 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

All of the hate and judgement makes me wonder if any of you even remember Matthew 22:36-40. Jesus is not exempting anyone when he says, "Love your neighbor as yourself." You are all so quick to quote verses from the first five books of the Bible, but in verse 40 Jesus tells us that "all the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Jesus is saying that the whole point is to love the Lord your God AND to love everyone else.

You are also so quick to condemn people for whatever flaw they may have. As humans we categorize certain sins as worse than others. For instance in our eyes a white lie is nowhere near as bad as murder. However in God's eyes they are equal.

I know that NONE of you will take anything from this, because you're so self righteous and filled with hate. As I typed that last sentence I was reminded of a group Jesus called a "Brood of vipers" a.k.a. the Pharisees. You all wear the title Christian, but just like the Pharisees, you condemn everyone else, but do not do a thing to help anyone. You condemn people to Hell (which you have no right doing in the first place, God is the only one with that right) and you call them "unsaved trash" but offer them no hope of salvation.

Matt 23:1-5 "Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do to be seen by men."

I know that I will probably be banned for this, but I only joined this forum to share with you how shocked and appalled I am. I know that I am going to see a lot of negative responses, but once again I don't care. Just remember that not too long ago you were all "unsaved trash" and only through the GRACE OF GOD have you been saved and been granted eternal life.

If we were so full of hate as you claim, we would not offer assistance to inferior people now would we? That fellow you were talking about had promise. He was a bit young and full of himself. I offered him gainful employment and as is typical with your kids today, had my offer flung back in my face.

Is there something wrong with you? Do you belong to some strange sect of cult that chooses parts of God’s Word and ignores others, so as to create a little god, just like yourselves, so that you can lord it over others?

Let me use the verse you gave, and let us examine it together. I would ask you to open your bible rather than read it from the screen. (If your Bible is some travesty other than KJV1611, please leave it well aside and read the verse here: )

M't:22:35: Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
M't:22:36: Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
M't:22:37: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
M't:22:38: This is the first and great commandment.
M't:22:39: And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
M't:22:40: On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The first Commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart. How are we to do that? How do we know what “love” the Lord requires of us?

May I suggest, The Bible? May I suggest, ALL of the Bible? Would you review a book after picking and choosing a few paragraphs to suit your own writing style? No. Then you agree, it has to be ALL of the Bible.

The second Commandment is to love thy neighbour as thyself. So the question here is, “Who is my neighbor?”

Now that might seem like an easy question, you reply, “Well anyone who lives near me?” That can’t be right can it? What of the stranger whom you meet on vacation?

So you say, “All those who are in the World?” That can’t be right can it? If Jesus had meant that, He would have said so.

So who is your neighbor? Your neigbor is someone who loves and fears God. He is not a person whom God hates. He is not an atheist who blasphemes by denying the Holy Spirit.

So, now all that is left is to bring together the ideas.

In M’t:22:36-40, We are instructed to read the Boble, believe all of the Bible and to love those who Love God – not any john Doe, only those who Love God.

What would happen if we loved idolaters, fornicators, homosexuals, witches? Simply put, we would not be doing God’s command, we would be defying Him.

That's an appeal to authority fallacy. Looks like you're not interested in an honest rational argument. Check.

And yet you come in here making sweeping statements about a forum with 10000 members for what reason? We want all the homersexuals and other sinners to go to Heaven. But as the Bible clearly states, they will not do so under current conditions. We wish for them to change their lives around so that they can go to Heaven.

Mr. Jones, please allow me to explain a few things to you:

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? -John 14:9

Who is the FATHER?

He is the Almighty Creator of the Universe (Genesis 1:1), and a JEALOUS GOD who rightfully demands we worship Him (2 Corinthians 11:2, Exodus 20:3), a GOD who slays the world and saves a few (Genesis 7:23), who will kill your children to punish your leaders and punish your children's children's children for what you have done (Exodus 12:29, Exodus 20:5), a GOD who sends bears to maul children (2 Kings 2:24), a GOD who will rub poop all over your face for not glorifying Him. (Malachi 2:3).

GOD and JESUS are the same entity:

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. -Colossians 2:9

Therefore JESUS is not the lovey dovey hippie that modern liberal Christians portray Him as, but rather He is simply the personification of GOD's softer side. GOD's mercy will give way to GOD's judgment in the end, and if you have not taken advantage of this transient love, you are damned:

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. -Revelation 20:12

We must accept GOD's hate with GOD's love, GOD's wrath with GOD's mercy (that is, believe and follow the whole Bible), and not be ashamed to call Him our LORD:

What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. -Deuteronomy 12:32

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. -Romans 1:16

Not everybody is going to Heaven, unless they totally submit to GOD's will and do, say, believe and live exactly the way they are instructed to by their LORD:

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. -Matthew 7:21

I hope this helps you understand why we follow the WHOLE Bible, not just the parts that talk about GOD's love.

Brother Bob is right! Even though it's kinda hard for me to understand that old timey language, if a True Christian™ says it, I believe it!

Toby, you should ignore what your grandfather said, he is a liar if he disagrees with the True Christians™ here. Jesus can still love you if you start to love Him the right way and you reject your family. I'll be praying for you!
