    Gimmie a break...

    Seriously... this site is pretty disgusting. It seems to be a bunch of rednecks preaching violence against the middle east in the name of Jesus; a man who abhorred violence and instead tried to change people through love. I've seen a lot of condemnation on these forums to people that I'm sure you don't fully understand. I used to be proud of Christians, being one myself. After seeing groups like this however, I am ashamed to be associated with such a religious group. Before you start to condemn me, consider that maybe you aren't living the way Jesus truly intended; aimlessly condemning people instead of trying to truly change people's lives for the better. I can't speak on behalf of Jesus of course, but I certainly interpreted him in a different way than all of you here.

    With that out of the way, feel free to give me your best shot. Put some real thought into your responses, I wanna see if you all are capable of giving me a coherent response. Please don't quote any of your "tried and true" bible verses, I want to hear from just you, only your opinion.

    I have no desire to condemn you, or judge you but ironically, you seem to be attempting to do just that to us.

    You obviously "believe" your way to worship is the right way. Such pride on your part.

    The Proverbs
    16

    Proverbs concerning Life and Conduct

    1 The preparations of the heart in man,
    and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.

    2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes;
    but the LORD weigheth the spirits.

    3 Commit thy works unto the LORD,
    and thy thoughts shall be established.

    4 The LORD hath made all things for himself:
    yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

    5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD:
    though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

    6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged:
    and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

    7 When a man's ways please the LORD,
    he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

    8 Better is a little with righteousness,
    than great revenues without right.

    9 A man's heart deviseth his way:
    but the LORD directeth his steps.

    10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king:
    his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.

    11 A just weight and balance are the LORD's:
    all the weights of the bag are his work.

    12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness:
    for the throne is established by righteousness.

    13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings;
    and they love him that speaketh right.

    14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death:
    but a wise man will pacify it.

    15 In the light of the king's countenance is life;
    and his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.

    16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!
    and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

    17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil:
    he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

    18 Pride goeth before destruction,
    and a haughty spirit before a fall.

    19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly,
    than to divide the spoil with the proud.

    20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good:
    and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

    21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent:
    and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.

    22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it:
    but the instruction of fools is folly.

    23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth,
    and addeth learning to his lips.

    24 Pleasant words are as a honeycomb,
    sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

    25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man;
    but the end thereof are the ways of death. Prov. 14.12

    26 He that laboreth, laboreth for himself;
    for his mouth craveth it of him.

    27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil:
    and in his lips there is as a burning fire.

    28 A froward man soweth strife:
    and a whisperer separateth chief friends.

    29 A violent man enticeth his neighbor,
    and leadeth him into the way that is not good.

    30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things:
    moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.

    31 The hoary head is a crown of glory,
    if it be found in the way of righteousness.

    32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
    and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

    33 The lot is cast into the lap;
    but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.

    You state not to quote biblical verse, but in reality, I answer only to God and let Him guide me. Your attempt at instruction means nothing to me.

    It was interesting to note you are adverse to Biblical verse, so I do have to wonder, if the Bible is not "right" in your eyes, where did YOU learn of Jesus?

    Some strange cult perhaps; claiming to speak the words of The Lord, but instead, tainting them to and for their OWN gains?

    If that is the case, I pray for you and may God have mercy on your soul!

    There's Jesus here,
    Just see what He offers me....
    Down here my sins forgiven,
    Up there a home in heaven
    Praise God, That's the way for me!!

      "Disgusting" seems like a harsh word, we prefer "Bible-based."
      It seems to be a bunch of rednecks . . .
      My dear, I am not a redneck, I do not go out into the sun with a brazenly displayed neck for just any man to ogle. Furthermore, I graduated cum laude from a Seven Sisters College.
      Jesus; a man who abhorred violence and instead tried to change people through love . . .
      Jesus spoke about bringing a sword to the world and and His method of changing people involves having them accept a blood sacrifice. That blood is required by God, who stated in His Word that, "Without the spilling of blood; there is no remission for sin."
      I've seen a lot of condemnation on these forums to people that I'm sure you don't fully understand. . .
      We don't need to understand these people that you speak of; we understand the Bible, and it is Biblical doctrine condemning these people, not us.
      I used to be proud of Christians, being one myself. After seeing groups like this however, I am ashamed to be associated with such a religious group . . .
      This gives us something in common, we are often ashamed of those calling themselves Christians.
      Before you start to condemn me, consider that maybe you aren't living the way Jesus truly intended . . .
      Hey, we're here on this site, minding our own business, which is proclaiming the unabridged Word of God. That is kinda what Jesus expects.
      I can't speak on behalf of Jesus of course, but I certainly interpreted him in a different way than all of you here.
      And yet here you are, on our site, under a forum titled "Teaching His Word" telling us that we are in the wrong, based on your interpretation of the things that Jesus spoke.

      With that out of the way, feel free to give me your best shot. Put some real thought into your responses, I wanna see if you all are capable of giving me a coherent response. Please don't quote any of your "tried and true" bible verses, I want to hear from just you, only your opinion.
      You have my assurance that I always put real thought into my responses. The standard operating procedure here is to write in coherent sentences with clearly provided scriptural support. And yet you insist that we cannot quote our "tried and true" Bible verses. Why are you on a site that discusses the Bible if you don't want us to bring it into to the actual discussion ?

      Also, we avoid offering our own opinion and instead opt for offering God's Holy Word instead. If you really do want my opinion, I suppose I can state that I think you're a tool.

      Joyously Yours,

            You claim to be a Christian, but I wonder if you studied what is in His Holy Bible? You seem to think God is always nice and fluffy, while this is clearly not the case. I wonder how someone can call himself a Christian and at the same time completely ignore huge parts of the Holy Bible.

            Some examples:

            Why we must judge you to save your soul:
            • Leviticus 19:15 "In righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour."
            • John 7:24 "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
            • 2nd Timothy 4:1-2 "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."

            God kills those who do not believe in Him:
            • 2 Chronicles 15:13 "That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman."
            • Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
            • Revelation 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
            • John 15:6 "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."

            People God hates:
            • Proverbs 6:16-19 "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren."
            • Deuteronomy 12:31 "You must not worship the LORD your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the LORD hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods."
            5 Reasons why GOD HATES WOMEN!
            To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!
            James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

                You should also consider the number of people who don't give a fig for the Bible who manage to hate and fear people whom they regard as a threat.

                They may choose to regard their enemies as too religious or mentally unbalanced or somehow lacking the proper mindset. It's not just certain sorts of Christians who weaponize their scripture.

                Here at LBC, we would much rather have everyone join us than fight over a bunch of false religions. We hold up the Bible so that the truth of its message may be known.

                Sincerely Yours,

                  Re: Gimmie a break...

                  Nice to see some non-hateful responses. Kind of sad to see so many bible quotes in response, when I asked for your personal opinion rather than scouring the pages for your responses; sorta defeated the purpose of my original post.
                  The bible is a fine book, don't get me wrong; but the word within it are quite open to interpretation. Every reprint, version, language... so many different bibles, yet which one is the indisputable true word of God? That's why I asked for your opinion, not the words of your respective version of the bible.
                  I want to hear your OWN words, not those quoted from a reprinted, revised, edited, translated, 4.99 book. I'm doing the best I can not to bash the bible, but you can only go so far with the words of another, when spell checked by a computer and changed by a publisher. I ask you these questions so I can better understand you, not to attack your beliefs. My interpretation of Christianity is much more different from yours, I just need to understand why you think some of your beliefs are as virtuous as you say they are. Also, apologies if I used some strong terminology earlier, I just wanted to spark some quick and passionate responses.

                  A couple of responses I'm a little skeptical about.

                  @handmaiden
                  Jesus spoke about bringing a sword to the world and and His method of changing people involves having them accept a blood sacrifice. That blood is required by God, who stated in His Word that, "Without the spilling of blood; there is no remission for sin."
                  What verse is that exactly? I don't really remember Jesus talking about taking a sword to anybody. Didn't he die for our sins, so that we wouldn't have to shed anymore blood?

                  We don't need to understand these people that you speak of; we understand the Bible, and it is Biblical doctrine condemning these people, not us.
                  You can't just abandon people just because you don't understand their culture or behavior. Learning about sinful cultures is not the same as indulging in them.

                  If you really do want my opinion, I suppose I can state that I think you're a tool.
                  Come on now, that wasn't not a very christian response.

                  @Nobar King
                  Wasn't that Ghandi?
                  So... are you saying Jesus didn't believe in love and was a violent man? Not sure what you're getting at here.

                  @Cranky Old Man
                  You seem to think God is always nice and fluffy, while this is clearly not the case.
                  Maybe not nice and fluffy, but I never considered him a vengeful God, except when he flooded the earth and killed everyone after Noah built the ark.

                  God kills those who do not believe in Him:
                  • 2 Chronicles 15:13 "That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman."
                  • John 15:6 "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."

                  Even if they don't believe in God, I don't really think he would murder people.

                  Are you saying God hates me? I think it says "things doth the LORD hate", not people right? I was told that God never despises his own children; but I suppose that's just my interpretation.

                    You don't seem to understand that our personal beliefs/feelings on subjects is Biblically based. Why would you come on to a Christian board, claiming you're a Christian, and not want Bible verses?

                    As For Jesus bringing a sword, it's Matthew 10:34

                    Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

                    You may want to look at this thread
                    Jesus is impolite

                    As for loving and understanding others, God specifically teaches us to keep away from 'others'.

                    Leviticus 10:10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

                    Matthew 10:14-15 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

                    Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

                    1st Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

                    So far we're supplying all of the Biblical references, and you just keep telling us we're wrong. How can we not be following the Bible and what Jesus taught when we're the ones who have actually read it?

                      To add to what sister BIG posted. When He comes back he's going to have a fiery sword that sticks out of His mouth and He will rule with an Iron fist with His saints as his side.

                      Revelation 19:13-16 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
                      And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
                      And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
                      Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

                        You should be praising Jesus and not hating on him.

                          May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

                            Young miss, you make several points that let us know that you are a false Christian following a false Christ of your own imagination rather than making a concerted effort to abide by His Word as given to us in the Holy Bible (KJV 1611).

                            Mark 13:22
                            For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

                            I will cover the key points you make, highlighted above, in hopes of turning you toward True Christianity™. I do not want for the false Christ you follow to get a chance to reveal his true demon form and drag you off to eternal torment in hell when you die.

                            Point #1: "Kind of sad to see so many bible quotes in response, when I asked for your personal opinion"

                            Missy, you presume that there is a difference between my personal opinion and the Word of God. There is no difference. I don't need to think for myself when the LORD has already told me what to think in the form of the King James Version of 1611.

                            Point #2: "
                            the word within it are quite open to interpretation"

                            The Word of God is NOT open to interpretation! We follow every word of the Holy Bible (KJV 1611) exactly as it is written. We do not interpret His Word to suit our vanities; we abide by His Word as it was given.

                            Matthew 4:4
                            Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

                            Romans 15:4
                            For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

                            II Peter 1:20
                            Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

                            Anyone who tells you that the Holy Bible is open to interpretation hates you! They are telling you lies that, if believed, will damn you to an eternity in the lake of fire! Only we True Christians™ truly love you, because only we have the answers you need if you are to join us in Heaven.

                            Point #3: "
                            so many different bibles, yet which one is the indisputable true word of God?"

                            The fact that you do not already know the answer to this is testament to the fact that you have been raised by people and associate with people who do not truly care about you. The indisputable True Word of God is preserved in the King James Version of 1611.

                            God has always given His Word to one people in the one language where those who receive it can most effectively carry out His charge - to spread His Word to the mankind. For us True Christians™ to faithfully execute this charge, God needed both His Old Testament and His New Testament welded together in a language that was common to the world. Only English can be considered such a language.

                            The English language had been developing for many centuries until the late sixteenth century. About that time it finally reached a state of excellence that no language on earth has ever attained. It would seem that God did the rest. He chose this perfect language for the consummation of his perfect Book.

                            The KJV 1611 made its way over to America and overwhelmed the foothold established by the Roman Catlickers of France and Spain. It then began to permeate young America with its ideals. Its truths led to the establishment of an educational system, based on Scripture, that was unparalleled in the world. It instilled in men the ideals of freedom and personal liberty, thoughts so foreign to the minds of men that their inclusion in our Constitution could only be described as an "experiment" in government.

                            But these activities did not go unnoticed by Satan. He who had successfully counterfeited God's church, ministers and powers certainly could not be expected to let God's Bible roam the world unchallenged. Every new version that has since been launched has been, without exception, a product of Satan's philosophy which rejects the premise of a perfect Bible.

                            Point #4: "
                            My interpretation of Christianity is much more different from yours"

                            And this is why you are going to go to hell if you don't change your ways. My advice to you would be to get a leatherbound copy of the KJV 1611 Holy Bible and devour every word within. And then live by those words. We here at Landover Baptist will be here for you when you are ready to begin you walk with Christ. We love you, and we want you to join us in Heaven.

                            In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
                            Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

                            The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. A couple of responses I'm a little skeptical about.

                              @handmaiden

                              Wasn't that Ghandi?
                              So... are you saying Jesus didn't believe in love and was a violent man? Not sure what you're getting at here.

                              @Cranky Old Man
                              You seem to think God is always nice and fluffy, while this is clearly not the case.

                              Are you saying God hates me? I think it says "things doth the LORD hate", not people right? I was told that God never despises his own children; but I suppose that's just my interpretation.
                              I am confused but I guess there is a lot of confusion going round. You say you are not interested in anyone quoting from the Bible, in a Bible study forum, then you ask for clarification of the quote, doubting the meaning as well as asking them to quote citations.
                              As a closing remark you use a quotation ,without citation no less. I really have to wonder what it is you want here.

                              Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations ... an everlasting covenant.
                              Proverbs 30:5,6: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
                              Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
