  • Hi there!

My name is Jo and I live in Sydney, Australia. (I see there is another newbie from Australia on here, hi TMTL!)

I like to go to Hillsong Waterloo when I can, and Central Baptist as well. I was raised on the bible but my school advised me to study science at university and it's a mighty challenge. I'm nearly finished though. When the Lord puts me on a path; I walk it.

Is there anything else anyone wants to know about me?

Does your husband know you are on the computer and do you have his permission to be on this Forum? I won't ask anything else of you until we get that cleared up but you might want to expand your introduction to tell us of your sons you have given birth to or what your husband considers your best type of pie you bake for him.

Well of course it is, you are a woman. There is really no need to fill your brain with anything other than how to help men and have children for Jesus.

The difficulty with science is that it attempts to fill your head with so-called 'facts' that run counter to all that wisdom that God planted in your mind when He gave you a soul.

Science is obviously wrong because it keeps changing. Think what scientists said was the truth in 1611 and what they tell you now!

Then compare this with the Timeless Word of God (KJV1611) - an eternal truth.

Now, which one is more likely to be the correct view of the world?

1Tm:6:20: O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

        Re: Hi there!

I didn't mean it was a challenge to understand, I meant that it was a challenge to study something so conflicting with my Faith! But I have kept at it and am doing well, and my parents continue to encourage me because they say higher education will make me a more attractive bride. Jesus seems pleased with me so far, as I have been blessed with great happiness and fortune and I praise Him for this.

I have to guess that you are not married , has your father chosen a husband for you yet? have you met him?
Does your father know you are visiting your forum, is he close enough to vette your readings?

The very same, Swish! My No.2 Goal in life is to spread the good news, after being a living embodiment of the Bible. Most people I speak to don't believe the things I say, but Hillsong members give me plenty of their time! I feel like I have much more success setting people on the path to the Lord there. We don't have many LBC-type centres down my way, but I hope to start one one day!

My father is in the process of choosing a husband for me, yes, but he finds it hard, I do let him down at times I think :s

My favourite verse is Matthew 13:41-42. It's just really punchy and speaks to me on a very deep level.

'The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.'

                    Re: Hi there!

Excuse me Sir, but I attended a Christian school, not a public school. And I shall not entertain such fanciful notions that my opinion on my future husband should matter... it does not even bear thinking of. If he is gracious enough to choose me to serve him, then I will owe him my life. How can anything else about him matter?

It is simply up to me to improve myself as much as I can until the day comes when my Father and the suitor makes an arrangement.

I see you will have a problem here, we speak American English here. Public school is not a private school and the best Christian school, or any school really, you can receive is at home by your mother and she will teach you in the ways your father sees best.
You seem to grasp your responsibilities to man and that is refreshing to see and by your description of your dress and demeanor you have been raised most correctly.
How old were you when you were saved and you accepted Jesus as your Savior?

                        Joanna,

Please listen closely to Brother Swish.

Hillsong are satanic and only out to get your money.

Please send your tithes to Landover Baptists if you truly seek salvation.

                          Re: Hi there!

Thank you for your guidance Charli, here I was thinking I was doing the Lord's work but I have shunned all my 'friends' from that place now!

How old was I when I was saved? I have known nothing but the word of God, I could not put an age to it. Yes, I have accepted Jesus as my saviour. I believe my father wanted me to be taught much more than he thought my mother had the intellectual capacity to teach, I suspect he wished to overwhelm me with facts in order to quench my thirst for knowledge. I am just so in love with the Lord and all of his creations that I wish to know them. This is probably my biggest sin. Also, I can't stand it when people use science to fight the truth - it just gets under my skin! I am getting to know my enemy by studying science at university, and what a formidable opponent it is. Entire libraries full of lies! Many storeys high! I do fear for my fellow Soldiers, but 'Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.' Exodus 20:20

Exactly Brother Swish! They have a pedophile leader (well Brian Houstons father was charged with it and the apple does not fall far from the rancid tree) and to top it off... they preach the NIV!!!
