    Hello from England!

Warmest greetings to my fellow bros and sisters in Christ!

I am Stevie, a church youth worker in Derbyshire, England.

I stumbled across the website earlier today. I must admit, I am a little disturbed by some of the things I have read on here, so I hope that we can have an honest and forthright discussion, all done in the spirit of love and mutual respect that was taught to us by our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Great big love!

Not so fast with the Brother and Sister stuff. What Church do you attend?

    England, youth..... we shall see.

Do you follow the entire word of God, not just the fluffy bunny parts, but all of His word?

If you are a Christian why are you disturbed about the Lord and the Bible.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

        Welcome Stevie

What did you find surprising friend? I would think since we are all following the entirety of the teachings of Christ there we would all be in agreement.

Ah, Derbyshire, not so far from my neck of the woods. What denomination is your church? Would you care to discuss a little bit about what your faith means to you, and what it is about our Christian teachings that you find problematic?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

              And thanks for your replies!

I am Church of England (which you probably know better as 'episcopalian')!

The Bible is very clear in what it says. We do not twist the Lord's Word like God mockers and haters do.

Why don't you go to a Baptist Church if you are a Christian.

Sorry, but what you're doing is the equivalent of going to an advanced mathematics forum, telling everyone that you just graduated from high school and that you want to debate with professors.

That's the problems with youngsters who learn to speak before they learn to think...

On what basis do you think that in this congregation of thousands of active participants, not a single person got the idea that verses cannot be taken out of their immediate context?

                  Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Context is important, yes. However many people take that to mean that the Bible can be interpreted in the light of certain cultures and time periods.

Since the Word of our Lord endures forever, those of us who are devoted to the Full Truth of the Bible do not presume that calendar pages designated by the measurement of man have any bearing on which parts of the Lord's Word we are required to obey.

We are full on, no holds barred, take no prisioners, 100 proof Bible Believing Christians here.

                      Are you?

                            Welcome Christian Rover.

I am not sure about what you are actually referring to in relation to reading the Bible in 'context'

When building a new home do you read the architects blueprints in 'context' ????.....When driving through the center of town do you take the road rules in 'context' ??? When baking a pie do you read the recipe and ingredients in context???........No I don't think so

Naturally you would follow these instructions to the 'letter"

Likewise God's word in the KJV 1611 is the instruction manual for Godly living and is to be obeyed and observed accurately and to the letter or else you are courting eternal damnation

I would suggest you remedy this sinful and so called 'context' of yours immediately
                            2 Samuel 22:31

                            As for God, His way is perfect;
                            The word of the LORD is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
