And I was Baptized at 1 1/2 in the Presbyterian church. Doesn't mean I was saved. In order to be properly saved you must be baptized AFTER you accept Christ. You have to be able to understand what Jesus died for. Sure maybe at 5 you can say the right words, but you don't truly understand.

My son could have been baptized at 5 or at 2, it doesn't mean it would take. He was even angry when his younger, more studious, brother was baptized at 8. My oldest son knew the words to say, he knew who Jesus was, and could have answered the Pastors questions correctly, but he was too giggly and thought the whole idea was a joke. I'm not going to have him baptized when he wasn't ready to accept the responsibilities that came with being a True Christian(TM)

2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Woah, woah, woah. Being Baptised and being Saved are two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. If you were a Baptist, you'd know that.

I understood who Jesus was at five, and accepted him as my Lord and Personal Savior. I was saved when I was five.

You don't even know the difference between Baptism and Christian Salvation. Is this some kind of joke?

And meanwhile we have a "Pastor" accusing me of being a Catholic (didn't catch "Mary" in there as it was late last night), who doesn't look a day older than 21, unless that's a picture of one of his sons.

If you're running a congregation at 21, you must have taken a biblical crash course, and gotten saved early two, Ezekiel, unless you're some kind of joker too.

Wow, you've got great reading comprehension don't you.....

And I was Baptized at 1 1/2 in the Presbyterian church. Doesn't mean I was saved.
Now I suggest you quit insultion our True Christian(TM) men and our Pastors. Personally I think you're just another atheist God-mocking troll here to disrupt our boards.

        Luke 3:3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
You're not going to convince a mother of 3 and aunt of 15 that you actually understood repentance for the remission of sins at the age of 5.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Considering your current reading comprehension, I really doubt you were capable of understanding this at the age of 5.

We believe that it is not possible to truly understand God without reading and comprehending the Bible in its entirety. Understanding, and salvation, comes not by reading a little Jack Chick comic book, getting scared of Hell, and swearing off stealing cookies . . . then returning to sin a few weeks later.

At what age did you actually read the entire KJV?

And please don't try to tell us you could read and understand Early Modern English at the age of five, OK?

He seems to imply that some people think being baptised as a BAPTIST would mean that he is saved. Sounds more like he considers the baptism invalid because it was Presbyterian. I guess it's your interpretation vs. mine, and you're not a Deacon.

And that is cute how you trademarked True Christian. Do you really have a trademark on it? If so the churches of the world are going to owe you a whole lot of money!

I have no need to submit to the authority of another church, especially one I have no direct knowledge of. Are you telling me that that is indeed a current photo of Ezekiel, your pastor? I have no listing of someone by that name in my SBC Worship Directory, although that doesn't necessarily mean that he isn't a Baptist Pastor. I know a lot of televangelists like making the young ones, especially the Pastor's Sons into figureheads, hereditary rulers, like the Roman Empire.

He meant that it wasn't valid because the baptism of someone unable to comprehend Christianity isn't valid.

Really? How many other churches have you seen use "True Christian"?

It is trademarked to differentiate between those who follow the ENTIRE Bible, and those who pick and choose the bits they like.

Landover Baptist Church is an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist church. Not SBC, and not any of the other Baptist conventions.

Do tell, since you've looked him up in your directory, what is Pastor Ezekiel's last name?

Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

                      Re: Howdy

Man, you've got the wrong Southern Baptist Coalition if you think we want to let homosexuals serve openly. That's not a big agenda of mine either way, but I certainly don't know of ANY Baptist Church associated with our conference that has such an unusual view. Maybe you are thinking of Northern Baptists, and even there, they would be extreme cases.

Honestly, I have heard "True Christian" used THOUSANDS of times in dozens of different congregations. It is almost certain to be in a pastor's sermon at least once a month.

Friend Rodimer, you clearly don't know much about the Baptist faith in general, if you don't know that almost ALL Baptist churches are independent. Being in a coalition is not the same as being under a Pope or a Bishop, or Queen Spider or whatever.

A fundamental tenet of Baptists, except Episcopal Baptists, is that Churches only cooperate and relate to one another voluntarily. Every Baptist Church is under the direct authority of Scripture and the guidance and interpretation of the Pastors.

I think it is funny to mix up the Southern Baptists with the splinter groups of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the Alliance of Baptists. That's like not knowing the difference between a Pentecostal Service and a Roman Catholic Mass, at the END of service!

                          Hi, North Carolina.

I think MOST conservative Baptist Churches follow the Bible, of course with their own interpretations mixed in. I don't know of a single religion that doesn't have their own spin and interpretation on SOMETHING in the Good Book or whatever their Holy Text may be. . .

Huh? I don't know what DoF even is. I am FROM California, in that I was born over there (long before Hippies, Legal Weed), but I've lived in North Carolina since I was less than 2.

Never been to Fremont though. I was born near the Sacramento area. Why do you want to know about where I live, anyway? hmy:

Friends, if you are real Baptists, you know that there is no such thing as "Southern Baptists." That is a loose association of churches, not a religion.

As far as MY church is concerned, gays shouldn't be able to serve openly, get married, adopt kids, or screw up our faith or anyone else's. We do not and never have condoned the gay lifestyle.

Anyway, how have my tone and tune changed? Y'all have been all over me since I joined, trying to get me to say I am a Catholic, a Californian, I come from a gay church, I'm a t r o l l. I wasn't on the defensive at the beginning.

Lycia, I have no idea what you're talking about with Deuterocanonicals. And I like Judges fine. Not my favorite books but not my least favorite.

One of my favorite books is Exodus. Favorite New Testament Book is Revelation.
