When I ask my fellow True Christians™ to pray for me, it is directly to Jesus, not a dead pope.

Many Catholic do the same. We also ask the the Virgin Mary and saints to pray for us as well.

To Mr. Dewitt: I understand where you might have that misconception, but we do not pray to Mary, we simply ask her to pray for us. It's the same as asking your neighbors to pray for you in the "Prayer Requests" forum. There are also many Catholics who pray directly to Jesus, but some just want a little more help in their time of need.

No, it's not like that at all. "Ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find" Nowhere does it say, "Go bothering Jesus' mom to have her pester Him into doing something that is against His Godly Plan!"

Why is moaning to Mary more effective than a sincere prayer direct to Baby Jesus?
