  • I feel better already

    Hello,

I am a lost soul in need of ministry. I am so confused, and have been for so many years, but I found this site and something spoke to me. I felt I had to register and learn more, fellowship more. Although it may be awhile before I feel confident enough to break from my shell and receive true ministry from you fine people.

You see I bear a deep and long-held guilt for certain feelings I harbor. Except that I don't know what is right and what is wrong exactly. I am no stranger to verse, but in no way am I prepared to separate the false teachings from the truth.

It would be so much easier if my shame were simple, like homesexuality, bestiality or being raised a jew or catholic; there seem to be plenty of ministrations in the forum addressing these and other common sins, and verse is always offered to guide and teach. And I am sure the enlightened can help me in my toils as well, but for now I am too ashamed to really let it all out. Please, bear with me, and allow me to worship and learn with you that I may become more deserving of God's gifts.

    Thanks!
    -Joe

    Welcome.

First of all, there are no "false teachings" in the KJV Holy Bible.

God's Word cannot be added to or subtracted from.

But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
    ~Matt. 10:33

        Re: I feel better already

Brother Gabriel, I don't know that I have a favorite verse, but one that gives me strength when confonted by the near-insurmountable pressure to embrace those minions of satan, the jews, and all that they represent and hold dear, I remind myself of Matthew chapter 25, verse 27:

"Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and
        on our children."

Of course nothing is complete without context, but I think we all know the story; a corrupt, heathen oligarch (Pilate) offered the jews a chance to show their ability to love and accept the gifts of the father, and yet they chose a common thief (Barrabbas) as one deserving their praise. I suppose it is meant to teach us of the fondness for gold that jews are so famous for, but, at least in my mind, it serves as a greater parable for the evil that is judaism and how it didn't even take a righteous person to prove it.

However I am not a theologian so I am not prepared to extend the metaphor any further, as i have stated I am a lost soul filled with shame.

Yours also in Christ, would He have me,
        -Joe

I think you are confused. THIS is Mat. 25:27...
          Matthew 25:27 (King James Version)
27Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
I think you mean Mat 27:25? Granted, 25:27 is a Godly passage about capitalism, but I am not sure which passage you mean.

I'm so sorry, in my haste I reversed the numbers. You truly are a shepherd to a blind man, thank you. I will edit that immediately.

I also agree fully, which is why I added the part about the context. There is no reason to sugar coat the passion portrayed in the synoptics with some silliness about murderous heathen being simple victims of Rome and "behind the gentiles all along". The Word is Truth.

No worries here. Now what church do you attend. How long have you been married and how many sons do you have?

Fairest winds to you, my new friend. I see you are looking for your way in a world of darkness. Might I take this opportunity to urge you to seek out other paths as well. You cannot truly know you are on the right path in life if you haven't properly explored.

If christianity turns out to be your guiding light, then embrace it. But keep your mind open for other ideas and beliefs as well. When you confine yourself to one mindset, you're missing out on a whole world out there just begging for you to experience it.

                  May your journey be wonderful!

Thank you. I have been married 20 years last week. My oldest son unfortunately passed away but I have two more, strong and intelligent. As a parent I am hesitant about arranging wives for them, but I want to believe that prayer and fasting will help me to find what they need to bring glory to His plan.

I have no church in which to belong though, and that worries me, especially for their sake. I had attended several in the North texas area but it seems they are all "fad" churches. And all of them seem to think they need some sort of "worship band". It was bad enough when they brought in tattooed and pierced miscreants to penetrate everyone's ears with noxious sounds of rock and roll, but the last straw was the one which hosted some demon possessed crack addict singing rap music. He had these massive gold chains hanging from his neck and jewel-encrusted teeth as if he were one of the temple merchants, and obviously could not dress himself; it is bad enough he didn't know how to wear a hat and pull up his trousers, but the most offensive part was the constant crotch grabbing as if it were the only way to keep his pants from falling to his knees. I almost felt sorry for him.

And people actually applauded. We left immediately and never looked for another sanctuary (this was the 5th one in a year we had experienced).

Really, is it too much to ask that music come from hymnals?

I wish you God's mercy, but you sound irritatingly like some liberal Episcopal priest justifying the marriage of lesbians and other abominations of worship. Perhaps you are simply confused about what True Christianity is all about. It is not about exploring choices, it is about free will to do what you are supposed to do and nothing else.

Thank you for the kind words, I often feel that I am unworthy.

I do have some theological questions and seek some guidance, but perhaps I should search more (the archives are abound with wisdom) and possibly direct these things to the appropriate forums.

                              Re: I feel better already

Until I find how I am allowed access I suppose I am stuck here. But perhaps it is a test of my resolve.

Can anyone help to clear up something I am confused over in the Ten Commandments?

The tenth, Ezekiel 34:26, I have trouble with because the Word itself is not read and understood in one chapter.

26 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the
house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his
                              mother’s milk.

I have no problem with the feast of firstfruits. Of course in His wisdom, He made sure that the worldly knew there would eventually be a post-industrial America made up of Christians, stamping out blasphemy and heresy around the world, a couple thousand years in advance and that we would call it Thanksgiving, and he would derive much joy from this.

But the second part, about seething a kid in his mother's milk, causes me much consternation. Cabritos is not seethed in goat's milk, and I often indulge as an effort to reach out to other cultures that don't have the blessing of being white like Jesus or speaking English. I feel it is only right that I interact so as to point out their positions in society and their damnation for the worship of feminine idols.

But where does chicken alfredo come in? I find it wholesome and nourishing, even though it is Italian, AND a pasta dish (reportedly worshipped by some sick individuals). But in moderation, is it improper to nourish one's physical body in this way? After all it is a chicken, not a goat, and the milk comes from cows, not goats (unless maybe you are one of those sick individuals who assume you can play around with creation and cause a cow to lay an egg). Because if it was meant as some kind of general metaphor then I feel I may have gravely transgressed with foods like cheeseburgers, chili-cheese dogs and other genuine American foods.

What makes it even more complicated is that the way the second part reads, it could be telling me that this is somehow connected to firstfruits only, so as long as I don't partake during Thanksgiving I have not offended Him.

I really do wish to serve my Lord better and obey His commandments, so I ask this (probably) stupid question.
