I am a very happy and proud atheist/humanist, who beleives life is for living while we are alive, not for the day we die.

Disgusting disrespect for human life, homophobia, racism, as shown on these forums in the same sentence as 'god' makes about as much sense as believeing blood can come from stone, mind you, on this forum I suppose people do really believe blood can come out of stones.

The only way to live a good life, is to live that said like for YOU, do what YOU want, not what some supernatural entity and a made up storybook fairy story (the bible) tells you to.

If you're going to believe in god as a supernatural being, then you must also believe that Casper the friendly ghost is real, that deers & bunnies talk and that Jack really did throw some magic beans out of the window that grew a beanstalk up to the giant's castle.

The bible is a very primitive urban legend, a few men got together, probably got drunk, and told a story, which got written down, then elaborated on over a few generations. Then you get the supernatural story of a man called Jesus, an ordanary man, who suddenly spoke to god on top of a mountain!

Another far more believeable theory is that of anceint astronauts, visitors from billions of lightyears away, landing on Earth in a time before technology, in a time of basic thought and superstition, and the 'god' that jesus talked to was infact an alien, come to earth to jumpstart mankind by implanting some of their DNA with that of existant homo erectus apes. 'Aliens' billions of lightyears more advanced than Earth, landing here from the skies, could very well be perceived as 'god' by people who knew nothing of the skies, had no means of communication par scripture & voice, and had not conceived the idea that life could exist even across the ocean, nevermind the universe!

Being a bygone time, far from our world of medicine and technology, nobody would have known of these illnesses, so it would have been passed off with superstition and supernatural explanations.

Religious delusions are nothing more. In a way I feel sorry for you all, you're sick people who need medical help. Call 911 or 999 or whatever your emergency number is, go to the hospital, doctors are not orgres, they can HELP you to live a normal life, free from all this deluded bull*shit.

Jesus didn't die for you, he died because some Roman HEROS saw what a screwed up man he was and they took pity on him by nailing him to that cross.

Don't be afraid to get help, and get out of this awful lifestyle, live your life, see places, meet people, and worry about death the day it comes to you. The book, the OBJECT may have existed just like a table or chair or a clay urn, but the supernatural yadda did NOT. God does not exist, Jesus MIGHT have existed as a mere human, perhaps a mere human with a mental illness that made him see things and hear things that were not real.

To someone with skitzophrenia, their delusions ARE REAL, they are wrapped up in this world, where the voices in their head are there, they are talking to them, they are seeing things because the illness makes them halucinate. In a time where mental illness simply did not exist, a man with skitzophrenia would have been seen as a prophet, and his delusions widely believed to be fact. When a Skitzophrenic man writes a book and other impressionables read it, well that's just the beginning.
