Nate referred to me as a "full retard". I find that extremely offensive, because I am a girl of normal intelligence that just wants to find a way to embrace Jesus.

I was raised in a secular household, so I was never really exposed to God or Jesus at all. Because of this, I find it hard to believe all the things I read in the Bible and other places, because I find it too easy to poke holes in the arguments. But lately I've been feeling...almost lonely, like there's a void in my heart where something important is meant to be. I think it might be Jesus, but I can't be sure since my intellectual mind keeps questioning the faith that I think my heart wants. I guess you could say that I'm not choosing hell, I'm trying to choose heaven, I'm just...finding it hard?

That emptiness you feel is your desperate need to love, adore, serve, and worship God for being perfect in every way by His Own Holy standards. Such a need is usually masked as arrogance or pride; atheists are arrogant because they so desperately want to fall to their knees for Jesus, but are too prideful to submit to Him as He demands! That's why they pretend He doesn't exist.

Once you begin to give God the glory, as it is He who is behind all your successes (and failures), you will find that feeling of emptiness goes away, and all uncertainty and doubt. You will know that everything that happens is part of God's Plan -- the 2012 midterm elections, the impending repeal of Obamacare, children starving in Africa, whatever -- and that you don't have to worry about it! You won't have to try to understand things like rainbows and magnets; they are gifts from the Lord!

Here's a video for you by a group called the "Insane Clown Pansies". ICP did a "song" called "Miracles", all about the wonder God has created. As you will see, some very creative and intelligent people believe in God, my friend!

Beware, they use some strong language in their misguided desire to reach today's Godless and depraved youth.

This is a straw man argument. I don't know a single person who believes in Christ Jesus because of this. Now I am not theologian, but I believe the REAL reasoning is something like this:

1) The Bible contains a message
2) Messages are created by sentient entities
3) ERGO: The Bible was created by a sentient entity

NEXT:

1) The Bible's message is perfect and True
2) No human could have created such a perfect and True message
3) The Bible's message was not authored by humans

FINALLY:

1) The Bible's message was not authored by humans
2) The only entity capable of creating the Bible here on Earth other than humans is God
3) Ergo: God wrote the Bible

While this logic in unassailable, you will find that not many Christians believe because of this. We merely use it as a check on our reasoning, like a mathematician checks his proofs. We believe because Jesus has revealed himself to all of us and we have listened to Him.

Atheists like you have received that message that God put into your heart, but you have ignored it for some reason I just can't fathom.

I see many holes in this argument. The first section I agree with (sentient entity part.) But the beginning of the second doesn't make sense to me. Something being perfect and true is completely subjective. I could write a book that I thought was perfect and true while you completely disagreed and considered it blasphemous. And even if we assumed the Bible was, in fact, perfect and true, who's to say it couldn't have been authored by humans? If you took all this for true, then the third part would make sense. But the second section is very confusing for me.

I don't hate God, I've never known him. I just want to learn more and get to know him better. And I didn't mean to threaten anyone, I was just thinking that your God might not like it so much if YOU were the reason that someone who was beginning to see the light turned away from Him.

Hmm, this is a tough one. Have you actually tried reading the Bible (KJV 1611)? I don't see how one could come away from devouring every Word contained within and still manage to leave spiritually hungry and unfulfilled. Do you feel as if your heart has been hardened to the Word of God?

John 12:40

It's tough to say whether you are hopelessly lost to condemnation without knowing more about you, which is why we like for aspiring Christians to introduce themselves here. I've read parts of the Bible, but only in a secular manner, for the purpose of study, not prayer. What is KJV 1611? The only part of the Bible I've read is Genesis, and the one I have is The New American Bible for Catholics.

Also, I don't believe that my heart has been hardened to the word of God; I think if that were the case, I wouldn't even be here trying to learn more! If that were true I'd be out doing terrible things and not even trying. I think simply the act of trying shows that that's untrue.

I agree that while some can consider some art perfect while others can consider imperfect. However, there are certain instances where this doesn't apply. In example if you have a circle that is perfect, does that mean that I believe it is perfect because it looks pretty? No, it is by definition a circle and that is that. Same goes for things like have a perfect score in a game of any sort or having a perfect driving record.

The KJV1611 is perfect because nothing can be corrected about and absolutely nothing can be disputed about it. It is God's word and it is perfect truth.

You cannot blame God for your beginnings and you certainly cannot blame God for your soon to be end. The Rapture will come any day now and when you are not on the List of Life, you won't have a single reason to complain to God. As a previous poster listed, you will be engulfed in the flames of a lake of fire.

You seem to be a perfect fit to move over here! Having turned just of legal age, my dad has two questions:

How many men have you bestowed your gift upon?

What are your dress measurements(so we can get ready to take you in, we will buy you Sunday dresses and other things)?

By the way, tithing is giving back what is God's by giving money to the church.
