How can you NOT believe that? Look at the overwhelming evidence for Christ being the son of God! Obviously Christian is REAL because the Atheist lost WWII and the Cold War.

Also, there were no Atheists that lost WWII. The Nazi party consisted mainly of Protestants and Catholics. Even so, how does this prove Christianity? It seems to me that this would just mean that Christians are better at killing people.

How do you know I am hellbound? What about you? What if you are wrong and the Muslims are correct? Then you will be going to Hell with me. Many say that the bible is their proof for belief, but the reason is that the Bible tells them to, and that the Bible is written (or inspired) by God. Unfortunately, almost every scripture from every other belief says the same thing. So why take the Christian Bible over the Koran? Do you are just disregard the divinely inspired works of other people? How can you be so certain of your position when there are others that have just as much faith, just as much evidence, and just as many books as you do?

I am merely looking for a decent conversation. The reason I delayed to tell what my beliefs are is because I knew that everyone would stop being nice, and would suddenly display their unjustified hate. What I did not anticipate was that this hate was displayed before I said anything. Do you guys ever smile? If all you are going to do is tell me that I am going to hell, whatever. I've heard it before, so there is no point in repeating it. I just want to know why? I think that is a perfectly simple question, that can be answered without adding hateful bigoted remarks.

Secular law forbids me for the time being from carrying out God's Will as inerrantly laid out in the KJV Bible. Hopefully when our country is returned to a Bible-based legal system, those minor roadblocks will be removed.

I am here because I am interested in finding other points of view. I am not trying to be a troll, and I am not trying to debate. I am not the one instigating a debate, you are. I only asked a simple question in the hope of getting honest feedback.

I would love to believe that people can go to heaven for all eternity, but so far that doesn't seem true. The reason that I asked my initial questions of "Why" is in hopes that one reason given is good enough for me to accept. Unfortunately, many people will not tell me why, and only tell me that I am going to hell. Well, telling me that I am going to hell is not going to help me convert. I am not very susceptible to fear mongering.

Most of the founding fathers were either agnostic or atheist. In the Treaty of Tripoli, it even states that the United states is not and has never been a Christian Nation.

Well, most people AREN'T going to Heaven for all eternity: they are going to HELL for all eternity, so your statement is partly correct.

I have the feeling that nothing anyone says to you will make you see reason, and I pray that you can see how frustrating that is on a day-to-day basis, but since you appear to be making one final plea for Jesus to reveal His Word to you, I will try.

I will list a few verses that I have found great and lasting inspiration in, and I hope you take the time to REALLY read them, and not just present a knee-jerk reaction.

(1 Peter 5:8) "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."

(Deuteronomy 31:6) "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

(Hebrews 13:5) "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

I am sorry, but I cannot believe something based on a single book, especially when the origin of the book has no evidence. Faith is not a concept that I can buy into either. Because of the lack of evidence, there is no way for me to tell the difference from the nonexistent and the supernatural. Thank you for trying to reason with me in your own way, but I regret that our ideas of reason and rationality are two different things. If solid evidence were provided in favor of God, that would convince me, but reading quotes from a single book just doesn't do it for me.

It does not seem that I can find what I am looking for here, so I will take my leave.
