Thank you for trying to reason with me in your own way, but I regret that our ideas of reason and rationality are two different things. If solid evidence were provided in favor of God, that would convince me, but reading quotes from a single book just doesn't do it for me.

It does not seem that I can find what I am looking for here, so I will take my leave.
Why do you need more than one book?

Let's say you wanted to make a Crème brûlée. Would you have several cookbooks scattered about taking up valuable counter space, or would you trust in the cookbook that has made perfect Crème brûlées for thousands of years?

I didn't click your link because it probably goes to some shemale porn site (yes, it happens more often than you think), but I do want to clarify that WE do not send anyone to Hell: nope, people earn that on their own:

(Hebrews 10:26-27) "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries."

          Re: Why do you believe?

*Sigh*, you don't seem to have alot of knowledge.
          Anyway:

The eminent Cambridge scientist made the comments in an interview with The Guardian ahead of his keynote speech at Google’s Zeitgeist event in London this week.

Hawking, who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease at the age of 21, said he was not afraid of death and compared the human brain to a computer which eventually comes to the end of its life.

‘I have lived with the prospect of an early death for the last 49 years. I'm not afraid of death, but I'm in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first,’ he said.

‘I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail. There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.’

Hawking is due to give a lecture tomorrow entitled: ‘Why are we here?’
Answering the questions in one line during the newspaper interview, Professor Hawking said humans should ensure they make as good use as possible of their lives, stating: ‘We should seek the greatest value of our action.'

The 69-year-old fell ill seriously two years ago during a lecture tour in the US, but has since recovered and returned as director of research at Cambridge.

I know several theists who want atheists sent to hell.

Son, why should anyone care what a speak-and-spell says about matters of heaven and hell?

What does this thread have to do with Hawking?

In spite of your condescending tone, I will reply.

I doubt any True Christian™ has ever expressed that they want someone to go to Hell. If you can find on this site where a True Christian™ has said that, I will donate $1000 to the Stephen Hawking Cripple Fund (or whatever it is called), and I will forward to you via email the receipt.

(Please do not confuse telling someone they are going to Hell for their actions with wishing for someone to go to Hell.)

As far as his assertion that old computers go to Heaven: I think he has either missed the point entirely, or the motor neuron demons have wiggled their way into his noggin.

Intelligent? You only have to open your eyes to see the evidence of God.

Look at the way that the atmosphere is perfect with the exact mixture of gases that our lungs need.
Visible light comes at the exact same frequencies that suit our eyes.
The planet is exactly the right temperature for us to survive.
The length of the day and the night precisely matches our sleeping patterns.

                Are these things just coincidence?

Can Stephen Dawkins not see this? His eyes still work don't they?

Unfortunately, almost every scripture from every other belief says the same thing. So why take the Christian Bible over the Koran? Do you are just disregard the divinely inspired works of other people? How can you be so certain of your position when there are others that have just as much faith, just as much evidence, and just as many books as you do?
LOL, the Koran was written by some old guy who talk to invisible men in the desert. How is the Koran anything like The Bible?? Try to do better please friend.
