My name is George Roland. I'm from Mississippi, but I decided to move to West Virginia to mine coal. I just got here last week, and I decided to come to this website because I'm away from all my family and friends and I need to remember that God is always with me. This is also my first time living out of my parents' house, so I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time on the Promise Enforcers website to learn to be a real man. I have a lot to learn from you True Christians™

Re: Hi, I'm George
Welcome George. I bet your wife and all your sons are happy to be with you.
What passage do you find is most influential in your life and why?Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Re: Hi, I'm George
Thank you brother. Sadly, at the age of 20, I do not yet have a wife. My parents refused to let me marry before 18, and after that, I was working too hard to get the money to move to deal with women. Now that I'm in West Virginia, I'll start looking for a good woman. My current favorite passage is Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. I believe this passage is God telling me my choice to leave my family to mine the mountains was right.

Please waste no time in getting married. I had three fine sons (and a daughter) by the time I was 20. You are not getting any younger.

No, I'd wait a few days, let people get to know you before you try to mount a Christian lady.Originally posted by George Roland View PostGood advice, I'll be sure to follow it. Re: Hi, I'm George
I'd rather not post the name of either church for security reasons. I was raised Baptist in a nice little Baptist church in Mississippi. Of course, as soon as I got to West Virginia, I started seeking out a church. Today, I went to the one nearest to my house. I got there early as usual so the pastor was not there. As I was praying, a woman in pastor's robes came out! I did not know what to do, so I prayed to God and He told me not to leave His house on a Sunday. I stayed for the service, but now I know I'll have to look for a church that keeps its women in line!Originally posted by Pastor Ezekiel View PostWelcome to God's favorite forum. Re: Hi, I'm George
Very wise, George. It is clear that the church was failing as they employed cheap labor. And is this not the trouble with the world today - lowering God's standards for the sake of a quick dollar?
