sorry I'm posting this here but I can't post anywhere else.

Let's say a man sinned in an outrageous way like sleeping with another man, but later on that same man ended up having a child(assuming he(the man) was bisexual). The child wasn't born with any deformities or some type of cripple disease and that child went through life becoming a true christian as an adult, read his KJV Bible daily and went to church on Sunday; the works(he wasn't a homer either). Would that child(well adult by now) be punished for the sin of their parents?

TL;DR: I'm mainly wondering if sin can be passed down from generation to generation? I get that everyone is born with original sin(that's what i understand of it anyway) but could someone get punished for something their parents did?
Thanks for your response ahead of time.

Have you even bothered to read the Bible?

    Or this forum?

I've read bits of it, cba to look through it on just a single question when I'm sure most of you on this site have a vast knowledge on it and could help me out.

      >was raised in a muslim family
never bothered actually getting into islam because lets be honest its as evil as evil can get. Not in the religion I can't be stoned to death for leaving it right?

never really had a Bible around
I've looked at ones on the internet now and again but never read through fully.

You can hate on me all you want(I know it will happen) I would just like to get this question answered

        Re: question

Son, reading the Bible is fundamental. Do you ask how to slow down a car just before you plow into a crowd of Christians? Of course not. You study before you ever get behind the wheel. Life is the same way. You must know and fully understand all the rules before you step out. Only a fool leaps before he looks.

The basic premise of your question is the child going to get punished for having a father who performs gay abominations. Maybe. God may punish the sun so the father sees the net effect of the horrors against humanity he caused. He could inflict untold excruciating pain on the person the foul act was done with. He could ravage the body of his grandmother, keeping her alive for years all while living in a rotting body. I assure you, retribution by Jesus will happen. Perhaps the son of the son will be born with no arms or legs and an anus shut tight. God works in mysterious ways and we are in no position to question or make any assumptions about Him.

No living person hates you. We have no reason to do so. However, God may well be very displeased. You need to take it up with Him.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Hehehe, I do have a daughter I wish was closed tighter than a tin full of mackerel. I cannot bear to be in the same room with her. It is going to be tough to find her a husband with no olfactory sense.

As has been said, if you have questions about the contents of the King James Bible, you ought to read it. That being said, here is an example of some scripture that would have answered your question:
                Numbers 14:18

                King James Version (KJV)

18The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

This is also stated in Exodus 20:5, and Exodus 34:7.

There is an exception made in Deuteronomy 24:16 for the death penalty.

God keeps all options open, and it is not ours to question why.

Deuteronomy 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

                    That notwithstanding,

1 Samuel 15: 2Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel [note: 400 years prior], how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

3Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Your job is to obey, and let God decide who gets the short end of the stick for what great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandpa did.
Leviticus 13:44 He is a leprous man, he is UNCLEAN: the priest shall pronounce him utterly UNCLEAN; his plague is in his head.

2 Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.
