Praise be to God's true word!

Hello, I'm new here. I have been to several other churches, and have gotten fed up with these so called "Christians" who act like John 3:16 is the only verse in the Bible. I am thrilled to see a community who accepts all of God's holy word, and not just the parts that are "politically correct".

    Some of my favorite verses:
    1 Peter 1:24-25

"For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away

But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."

For ever! Not just when it is convenient for you!

    Proverbs 3:5

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."

Where do these modern "Christians" or "Scholars" get off saying they have a greater understanding, or know the "hidden meaning" of what is in the Bible when it is clearly written in English?
Close minded people are just right people who don't want to spend time arguing.

John 3:16 is a fine piece of scripture.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    It's especially wonderful in context

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name ofthe only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

It's the simplest of rebukes to just put it in context so really it's no hardship if lukewarm Christians hurl it in our faces as if we ought to be afraid.

It's wonderful to see a newcomer with such fervour for scripture and grasp of its actual meaning.

So what brought you here? Have you always been devout as you seem now or did repenting from a life of depravity put the love of Jesus into your soul?

John 5:46,47 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

So, you told us a bit about your religious life; tell us about your home life. Do you have any kids, a wife or pets?

Welcome friend! When and how did you discover Jesus had your back? What depravities were you doing when you noticed Him standing there with a tear in His eye?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

No, not at the moment. I might in the future though.

I have known about the Bible and Jesus as long as I can remember, however up until a few years ago I was not sincere in accepting him.

I continued to live a life of sin for many years, including eating shellfish, wearing clothing of mixed fibers, failing to sufficiently honor my parents, and allowing female school teachers to teach and have authority over me. The sad part about all this is that because of fluffy bunny liberal Christians I wasn't even aware most these were against the wishes of God.

A few years ago, after actually reading the Bible, I realized I was living a life of sin and accepted Jesus.

Whom? That is a tough one. There are the people who falsely pretend to have knowledge through the teachings of so called "science" 1 Timothy 6:20, there are people who have strayed and follow false Gods, but I think the most dangerous people are luke-warm Christians.

            Revelation 3:15-16

"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. "

As I understand this, God prefers people who are against him (cold) to those who are only somewhat for him (lukewarm).

I completely understand why. It is because of these so called "Christians" that I was mislead to believe I was really following God's word, when in reality I was only following a politically correct whitewashed version.

I pray that all of these people see the error of their ways as I did and find God's true message. But since God is a loving God, and allows us free will, he will not force anyone to believe in him. Which is why it may be necessary to have various plagues, natural disasters, wars, and destruction run rampant throughout their lands, just like in the old testament.

It sounds to me like you have read the Bible, have seen the Truth® and now fully perceive the need for God's message to be hailed far and wide.

                Welcome Mr. Prayer,

God is the bringer of all things. Consider if you will His message, and reflect upon all the false Christians you see. Without those who are doomed to burn in hell for all eternity how would we know the virtue of His Word? How can we know courage without fear, or know the darkness if there was only light?

God tells us whom he hates, and whom we are allowed to judge. He even tells us whom we should smite in his name, but we must also follow secular laws.
"If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. . . . And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the manservant's do."
