Hello all, I'm new here and I have already been labeled as trash.

While in fact being saved and fully believing in Jesus Christ and the word of God, after making ONE post arguing my personal beliefs against those of another, I have been blacklisted. This is certainly not the "Christian" thing to do, especially since I was not offensive in any way whatsoever (reference to my post: http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?p=797207).

I may return to post again, I may not. I simply registered to post my view on the subject (since my major in university pertains to it). I have done what I came to do, and it is your own choice whether to read what I said or not, and whether to comment on it or not. You can blindly throw it away or accept my view as my own view, and discuss it in a civil manner. Otherwise, I do not believe you are acting how a true disciple should act.

So far I have not been impressed with the community here. These are the types of bigots that give Christianity a bad name. Maybe not everyone here, but all of what I've seen so far. And if you dare try to speak out..they can just ban you, delete your posts, or do whatever they want. That's real classy. Especially to the ones who did nothing offensive.

Yes, every new person who signs up here is automatically assigned that label until you can show yourself worthy of being known otherwise. So far, you're not succeeding.

No one "blacklisted" you. And how can you say you "fully believe in Jesus Christ" yet you believe the Bible is wrong when it says the Earth is flat? That's picking and choosing what you want to believe. That's putting your own judgment above God's.

I wouldn't call any True Christian(tm) here a bigot. No one here strays from the Bible, but if you find us bigoted, then you must think God is bigoted. Is that what you really think?

BTW: This is an INTRODUCTION FORUM, not a Whine-and-Rant Forum. Tell us about yourself. How old you are, why do you call yourself a Christian, what other parts of the Bible do you ignore, that sort of thing.

There is no hate here, my friend. Please start your own introduction thread and tell us all about yourself. Tell us what church you go to and what your favorite Bible verse is and how you came to find Jesus. And any filthy personal sin you are struggling to overcome.

This is the Christian thing to do: 2 Corinthians 5:9-20

This is the Christian thing for you to do: Matthew 4:17 "17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Pretty simple huh? You need to stop spouting blasphemous filth and repent from your evil ways. Then, maybe, you won't be hurtling towards Hell every time you open your mouth.

Honestly, I think you're interpreting the Bible wrong. Show me where it says explicitly that our planet is "flat." Then launch yourself into orbit and look at the beautiful blue marble God created that is our planet, and think long and hard about being so close-minded and harsh. Not very Jesus-like.

Labeling a newcomer as TRASH is really stupid. Even if they are new, you don't call them trash. Just label them as, oh I don't know, a newcomer? Until they're proven in "your standards" to be worthy enough to be labelled as a Christian? Jesus did nothing of that sort. If he met someone knew, he didn't call them trash. It may behoove you to not do that either. It is not your place to judge ANYONE. That is solely God's job when the time comes.

As for succeeding in being labeled a Christian here, honestly I don't care whether I ever get that label or not. It is not anyone's place to label me. God knows my heart and soul, none of you do. God is my creator and God is my judge. You can tell me your opinions, but not a single human ever has been able to or ever will be able to tell any other human definitively what God thinks of them. Period.

Knowing the Earth is round is not putting my own "judgements" above God's. I fully believe God created our universe to be bound by explicit physical laws to maintain order. The Earth being round is just a result of that.

As for my bigot comment, a bigot is someone who has certain beliefs and refuses to even acknowledge that anyone with differing beliefs has any sort of credibility. If someone truly believes something, then for the love of God, you need to RESPECT that, even if you don't agree with it. Be civil and convey your differing opinions in a manner as to not SCARE them away from Christianity. That is the number one problem today. People literally shoving God and Jesus down other peoples' throats. If you wish to show someone the way, why on Earth would you ever be harsh about it? They are a creation of God. They are a soul you could win over in the eternal battle. As far as their spirituality is concerned, they're pretty much an infant. Infants NEED tender and loving care. That is how you are supposed to portray the love of God and Jesus. That is how Jesus himself would do it. Gently. Lovingly. Not like I've seen people here act.

And seeing as this subforum is "the ONLY subforum I can start threads in," where else would I post things about my beliefs? Is that not a good enough introduction? I am not whining and complaining. I'm coherently stating my viewpoints and yet you STILL use degrading terminology to reference what I say.

As for the menial details, since you asked: I am 19 years old from Virginia, not married but planning to be engaged sometime soon, raised in a home where my whole extended family go to Baptist churches. I call myself a Christian because my beliefs are, obviously, what I believe to be true. I have spent many years being educated in my religion, whether that be on Sundays in Sunday school, or the services themselves, or throughout my childhood on Wednesday nights in a program many churches around here have (called AWANA). There are no parts of the Bible I do not believe, there just may be parts that I interpret differently from you or your colleagues, and that's fine. You can tell me about your differing views and I can tell you about mine. But as for the conduct expressed towards me or anyone else that doesn't have concurrent beliefs, I'm not impressed, and I would be hard pressed to want to grow and network myself around here. I think you all need to seriously rethink some things.
