This is what is called a "strawman" argument. Nobody said ANYTHING about liking bananas; only that the design (yes! the DESIGN!) was perfect.

(John 1:3) "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."

God created everything. Some of it is pleasant (apples, rainbows, mid-60s Pontiac GTOs) and some of it is unpleasant (volcanic lava, queers, Toyota Camrys).

(Isaiah 45:7) "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

I've seen nothing but racism and hate here. Hypocrites go to hell, haven't you heard?

After I read the initial responses to this thread, I began to think, I picked up a bible, started reading and I said prayers before I went to bed. But if what I've seen here (shooting kids on halloween, being racist towards just everyone but Americans and telling everyone they're going to hell) is what being Christian means, I'd rather stay an Atheist.

You say you aren't extremists but I bet you'd deny being liars too.

It's saddening actually. None of you can think for yourself. I'm yet to see one response here that isn't "the word of God" or taken from the Bible. You may as well have no brains.

Using brains or thinking outside of the Bible brings hell, buddy. (Proverbs 12:15)

You'll find none of that here from the Saved™, I assure you.

What were you anticipating? We are a humble Christian website devoted to praising God and living by EVERY WORD of the KJV Bible. When you go to a football game do you complain when there aren't elephants and clowns?

This might be a good time for you to go back and read some of the "Sticky" notices that you've obviously overlooked: our devotion to the Bible in its entirety is made quite clear.

Oh, and if you can find ONE INSTANCE where a True Christian(tm) has taken the Bible out of context or misquoted it in ANY fashion, I will donate $1,000 to the anti-Jesus pro-queer charity of your choice.

I'm not anti-Jesus at all. I'm anti-extremist. And I've read the stickies, that's why when I made this thread I was trying to avoid contradicting any of them or make it look like I was arguing against them, but it's pretty hard and you're not really giving me much of a choice.

Well, some Christian Scientists have said that the brain has little use in God's people. God gave us minds to help our spirits move our bodies around on earth, sort of like an interface between spirit and flesh.

But reasoning of any kind can never be done outside of the Word of God. I'd gladly donate my brain if I could because I know I can still be a Christian without it and get to heaven. That's better than letting the brain lead us to hell.

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." (Joshua 1:8)

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isaiah 1:18)

What is extreme about following the Bible to the letter? Do you disregard other instructions so cavalierly out-of-hand?

Let's say you needed to change the transmission on a car. I just checked in my shop manual and there are 73 steps involved in changing the transmission in my Jeep (this is not counting the parts that refer to sections covered separately). How do I decide which steps to omit?

When you are making quiche (don't deny it!) do you skip the part about adding flour to the grated cheese before adding that to the egg/milk mixture?

                        DO YOU???

Of course firearms were not available until relatively recently, but I truly believe that God wants us to use all tools at our disposal.

(1 Corinthians 12:5-6) "And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all."

For instance, the internets and computers are not mentioned in the Bible. Does that mean that I should not avail myself of them in order to secure God's Will on Earth?

                              Of course not.

                              Yours in Christ,
