    Trying to find Jesus. Need help.

    Hello. I will summarize my personal story quickly.

    Throughout my life I have been a mild mannered fellow, keeping out of any serious trouble and respecting my fellow humans. Throughout my life I have been taught of the worlds most popularly followed religions, yet not I have believed in any of these beliefs myself, nor engaged in any sort of religious practice.

    As I'm sure you can imagine, most of my life I have felt as if there is a hole inside me. I have tried to fill this hole with things I'm sure many of you would consider sins. Yes, I am a sinner, but I want to be saved. Don't ban me just yet, because I'm here on a quest for enlightenment. As I have understood it, it is a christian thing to help others 'see the light'.

    I feel now that christianity is the right way for me to go, but I am having some doubts. I can see that you are very strict on this website, I ask you to finish reading my plea before you ban me for being a heathen.

    I have read a lot of the bible, and I have some questions regarding a lot of the things written in it.

    For instance;

    EXO 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

    ROM 15:33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

    GEN 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
    GEN 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

    GEN 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
    GEN 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

    PSA 92:12: "The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree."

    ISA 57:1: "The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart."

    There, to name a few.
    I am also having some trouble understanding your holiday, christmas. I was taught that the christmas tree symbolized the suffering of Jesus, but it is known that around the time of 24th december, over one thousand years ago in heathen scandinavia, the people here celebrated the marking of winter. Traditionally they would decorate a tree, which symbolized Yggdrasil, the world tree in old norse mythology.

    These are some of the things that make me doubt the word of the bible. Please enlighten me so I may cease to wander in the dark. I desire to be saved and feel Jesus in my heart.

          It is your understanding of God's perfection that is flawed. Read it again and this time truly believe!

            There are no contradictions in the Bible. The confusion stems from you. It sounds like what you really are looking for is wisdom.

            For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

            God will not deny it from you if you are sincere in heart and trust in Him fully. So pray, make sure you have confessed every single sin in your heart (don't be stingy now - we can help if you need guidance), and read the Bible with an open heart, trusting the LORD will reveal Himself to you.

              How can anyone doubt the absolute Word of God?

              You fluffy bunny Bible interpreters are always finding fictitious 'contradictions' when in fact there is not a single one, just the True Purity(tm) of His Word.
              Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
              Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
              Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
              Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
              Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
              Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

                  Oh, goody. Another God-mocking atheistard who glanced at the Skeptic's Annotated Bible and thinks he's going to shock us with a few supposed "contradictions", which are no contradiction at all.

                  Protip: If you want to pretend you are anything other than a dimwitted atheistard, try capitalizing proper nouns. You know, like "God" and "Bible".

                  Oh, and I dop hope you enjoy the eternity in God's Lake of Fire which you have chosen by rejecting God's Unconditional Love.
