False Christian in need of guidance

    Hi everyone!

My name is Bret, i am a born again Christian. I have lived a life of sin, but i returned to God and let Jesus into my heart about 5 years ago. I do not belong to a church, but have an alter in my home where i worship the Lord Jesus Christ.

The reason i have come to your forum is to hopefully receive some guidance on a very serious problem i have. You see although i have found Jesus, my wife refuses to accept him as her one and only savior and pathway to heaven. She is also very disobedient and refuses to submit mentally and physically to me like a good Christian woman should. what should i do?

What does the Bible tell you, Bret?

And speaking of the Bible, what is your favorite Scripture and why?
    Bible boring? Nonsense!
Try Bible in a Year with Brother V, or join Shirlee and the kids as they discuss Real Bible Stories!
You can't be a Christian if you don't know God's Word!

Which Church were you raised in? Which Bible version do you use?

If you were a True Christian(tm), you would use God's Holy Word to guide you in disciplining your wife.

my favorite verse is Corinthians 12:5 There are differences of ministries but the same lord.

I am not sure what the bible tells me to do, I have only been studying for 5 years, and it is difficult for me because I am dyslexic. This is why i have come here in hope of receiving guidance. i do not have anyone locally i can ask.

Thanks for the info Pastor Ezekiel, but i have no betters. the only man better than me is the Lord Jesus Christ. To place any man above me would be equal to idolizing or worship. The only man i worship is the Lord Jesus Christ.

          I hope you understand.

Pastor Ezekiel, i hope referring to my dyslexia as some kind of retarded syndrome is an attempt at humor. Just in case it is not, Dyslexia is a condition that makes it difficult for me to read fine print, like is found in most bibles. I can read normal text like on this forum just fine. People with impaired vision also have trouble reading fine print, the difference being they can wear glasses to rectify it, I can not.

Thanks for offering to help find a church, but i do not live in a town. I live in a remote location, with not a single church within two days drive. This is why i have an alter in my home where i worship. I was baptized and confirmed in an Anglican church many years ago.

Anglicans aren't Christians. They're nothing but jumped-up papists. Do you still worship the queen? I thought you Austrians were free of all that British blasphemy by now.

By the way, you're not an abo are you?

I do not and have never worshiped the Queen. I do not consider myself to be Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, or any other label that can be thought up. I consider myself a Christian period. British blasphemy? you do realize where the King James bible comes from? I am starting to think I made a mistake by visiting this site. Please tell me you are just kidding around, it can be hard to tell sometimes on the internet when you dont know the individuals.

Is your dyslexia why you can't capitalize the name of God's Holy Word, too?

It shouldn't take 5 years to read the Bible, friend. Especially when it's available free online, and you can adjust the print size however you like on your computer screen.

                        1 Corinthians

Of course it does not take 5 years to read the Bible. It can be read in a couple of days. However it takes a long time to take in and comprehend. the word of God is complex, and only a fool would suggest he understands the wishes of God after skimming through the Bible. In fact a true Christian never finishes studying the Bible, it is a life long quest. So seeing as i have only been studying for 5 years my understanding of Gods will is limited.

I study the bible at my alter, so my computer does not suffice. its not like i cant read the Bible i have. Its just i have not studied it enough yet to be able to easily reference verses that can help me.

If you are able to reference me to Bible verses that may assist me with the problems i am having with my wife it would be much appreciated.

Quite a bit actually. Like many before me i will study it my whole life. Hopefully with the will of God i will understand enough of his instruction to keep me on the path through the narrow gate. Although the path through the narrow gate is difficult, with the love of Christ i will succeed. The Lord knows and he explained to us that following his word will not be easy, and we will be persecuted. This is why Christian brothers need to stand side by side in the face of evil.
