Re: Christian in need of guidance

Stop making excuses for knowing nothing about God and get with the program.

The Bible is not some sort of stumbling block - it's the way to the Truth(R) about God and just how much He really is worthy of worship. There's no substitute for actually finding out just how much God's wisdom is as relevant and right today as it ever was.

God created men equal for a reason. So that none can stand between man and God. The Lord said ask and you will receive. I am receiving the love of God. My understanding of his word is still limited. unlike many i have not been reading the Bible my whole life. I am a born again Christian.

I am not making excuses, I am giving an explanation. Because of the short period i have been reading the bible, i have the understanding of it likened to a teenager. Just like a teenager i require guidance in difficult situations.

All i am asking is for somebody to reference me to verses that will help me solve my problem. I am asking because the problem is pressing and can not wait for me to find it for myself.

If you are not willing to assist a fellow Christian with a serious theological problem, just say so and i will look else where.

Your perception of God is a very negative one. I think of God as a father who only sends people to Hell if they deserve it, such as for failing to believe in Him on zero evidence. You, on the other hand, seem to think God made the Bible deliberately esoteric so that well meaning people could be cast into the blazing furnace for all eternity despite years of devoted study and application. Is this an accurate understanding of your view?

However it takes a long time to take in and comprehend. the word of God is complex, and only a fool would suggest he understands the wishes of God after skimming through the Bible. In fact a true Christian never finishes studying the Bible, it is a life long quest. So seeing as i have only been studying for 5 years my understanding of Gods will is limited.

I study the bible at my alter, so my computer does not suffice. its not like i cant read the Bible i have. Its just i have not studied it enough yet to be able to easily reference verses that can help me.

If you are able to reference me to Bible verses that may assist me with the problems i am having with my wife it would be much appreciated.
I don't know about that. The remarkable thing about the Bible is that is is very easy to understand

For example what God says that queers should be kill in Leviticus 20:13 that is exactly what He means.

          Simple.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

How on Gods earth do you see a negative perception of God in what i said in that post. No I do to not think that, on the other hand you seem to think it is possible to read through the bible once and immediately understand everything there in.

yea it does say that. It also tells us we dont have the right to judge. Jesus also teaches us to forgive. we also have to follow the rule of man.

So if the bible tells me i can discipline my wife with violence, the rule of man tells me i can not, and at the same time Jesus tells me to forgive, and to show mercy. Do you see my dilemma yet?

all you people seem to be capable of is making a new member feel totally unwelcome. you can provide links to all kinds of bible verses to support your negative replies, but can not find in yourself to simply give me a little assistance with my problem.

Praying to God for somebody with common sense to see and reply to this thread.

Re: Christian in need of guidance

Welcome Bret. I have read all your posts and quite frankly, I have seen nothing but the generous Christian Love extended to you only to be returned with sarcastic remarks, even to a Pastor! I think you might need a few days quiet time in your prayer closet to reflect on your behavior. A reminder, when the whole world appears to be out to get you, perhaps it is not them but you. Think about it.
Regarding your wife (I am a bit of an expert on them), as her husband you swore and oath to God to ensure you have a Christian home. Put God in to your wife. Explain to her about Heaven and Hell. Use visual aids if she is daft, things like a blow torch or a red hot poker followed by a nibble of cheese. You must be strong willed, both of mind and of hand if she is going to have any value. Be aware, she is raising your children. If she fails to show them the Love of God, expect little heathens running amok.
I'll pray for you to have the strength to carry out Gods Will.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

James i have been reading through these forums and i got to say, it is shocking to say the least. I feel very sorry for people like you. You have all obviously been lead astray by satan. I know you cant see it. the devil is very tricky. You are all heading through the wide gate. You are all talking the easy path which leads straight to hell. (THATS RIGHT THE EASY PATH) None of you have single clue what generous Christian love is.

I pray that the Lord vanquishes your most unholy church, and that you people discover the true light and love of Christ our Lord and Savior.

I would not take theological advice from and member that has replied to this thread. Sorry for wasting everyone's time.

Have fun hating as it leads you down the easy path.

If you can find a single instance where a True Christian(tm) on this website has either (a) misquoted Scripture, or (b) interpreted the sweet, sweet words of Our Lord Jesus Christ in any way (using phrases like "what that REALLY means" or similar), I will gladly donate $1,000 to the fluffy-bunny cherry-picking "church" of your choice.

                  You have two hours.

I am affraid it is you that is being ruled by satan, and you are blind to it. It is most likely not your fault though. I bet you were born and raised like this. Children are shaped by their parents Godless or otherwise.

It is not too late. leave it all behind and discover the true love of Christ.

It is easy to take every word in bible literally. It is easy to be intolerant, unforgiving and racist.

It is difficult to decipher the word of God because it was written by man, and all men are sinners. It is difficult to be tolerant, forgiving and merciful.

So what process do you use for for judging which bits are literal and which are not?

                              Let me guess,

'Do I like this bit I'm reading?

                              No. Then it's not literal.

                              Yes. Then it's literal. '

If this isn't the process you use can you please tell me how you do it?

Also how stupid do you think God is if He lets a book survive which is full of bits that can be interpreted wrongly? I can only assume the god you have made up in your head is some kind of stupid, powerless drooling retard. Is your god worth worshiping?

I know God wouldn't let me believe in Him if He didn't exist.

This refers to joos, I am not a joo.

No it refers to the value that God puts on people. He could have been talking to a bunch of eskimos it doesn't alter the fact that He values people differently.

By the way, the 10 commandments were for the jews. Have you ripped them out of your Bible since they don't apply to you?
