I'm going to try and keep this rather brief seeing as some of you have posted on other topics saying "Long posts are boring to read" or something along those lines.

What do you prefer we call you by?
I prefer to be addressed as either Views or Views_Change (either one works really).

Are you Christian?
Yes, I am a Christian, however, I'm not an extremist like many of you who take the Bible to a literal understanding.

Are you gay?
No, I am not gay but I have a few gay friends. I doubt this makes me a sinner.

What are your views on Jews, Muslims, Satanists and other (s)?
Personally, it makes no difference to me whether one is religious or not. As long as that someone has morals and is not a disgraceful person, I'm able to get along with him/her.

Do you go to Church?
On occasion, yes. I also do try to help out my community as much as I can by volunteering out at sales, bible camps and what-not but with school, it's not that easy to keep up with all the time.

Why do you instigate with other people?
It's nothing personal, just that sometimes I find a few people to be a little bit on the odd-ball side. I also have a bit of a argumentative side that likes to creep up once in a while .

And hey, it gives you guys something to talk about so we're all winners in the end (unless you're going to condemn me to hell again Hehe ).

Do you believe that Christ was truthful when He said that the ONLY way to God and salvation is through Him -- and that all other paths are therefore DAMNABLY wrong and evil?

Do you believe that Christ is the One Truth, and that Christians are therefore the only people who possess the Truth -- and are therefore superior to everyone else?

Do you believe that when Jesus comes again God will cast all non-Christians into Hell, where they will burn forever?

Do you believe that Christians are commanded to preach the Gospel to all living beings?

If you did not answer "yes" to all these questions, there is one further question to ask: "Why do you call youself a Christian when you don't believe the Bible?"

I believe the bible was left open to interpretation and not to be looked at literally, as mentioned above in my introduction. Yes, I do believe in Jesus and God but I think the meaning to the stories in the Bible are more important then the stories themselves.

But does it make me a bad person even though I do practice morals? I don't see why not.

Now what did Jesus say about people like that? It’s most disappointing to find someone who thinks he can be called Christian when he doesn’t follow God’s words. Why, it’s like an airline pilot who says, “Oh yes, I’m a pilot… I don’t always land at airports though.”

The short answer is: yes.

Your "morals" will not get you one inch closer to Jesus than the behavior of a sodomite or a mudslime. In fact I would question your premise from the beginning. The Bible commands us to judge unsaved scum. Your misplaced "tolerance" and "acceptance" of those whom God hates will get you on the fast track to hell.

Please consider the following verses:

2 Peter 1:20: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

James 2:18: Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works:
Shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

1Cor:9-11: I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

Simply put, with the current environment I live in where there is 1 religious person out of 50, I try to my best to stick to what the bible says and learn from the given life lessons.

Accept them the way they are. If they choose to live a life that way, then it is out of my control to do anything about it. I am not going to disrespect somebody who is gay just because they are gay. I'm sure that person already knows that it is frowned upon to be gay but I'm not going to rub it in his face even more.

I try my best to be neutral to everybody , even if they are part of a religion I don't agree with.

This site is a Church community, is it not? You may have understood my choice of words differently but when I say "I try to give back to the community", I am saying that I help out the youth group at my church and the elderly for what ever event is hosted.

Well, it depends. From how I see it, the stories are there to inform us right from wrong. Keep in mind that the mentality has changed from then and now. There are now new sins, new ways of living, new everything basically.

I do my best to interpret the bible the best way I can but I don't want to make myself look superior to other people because the bible tells me so.

Why should I go to hell for a minor sin like that. And tell you frankly, the good I do out-weighs the bad I do by a long shot.

Since you are being so specific, is it okay to say that if I don't agree with that 1% of the bible, I'm completely against it? You seem to be looking for any kind of excuse to condemn me to hell...

No it doesn't, friend. As Pastor Zeke pointed out, our good works are but filthy rags to God.

Believing that your good works could out-weigh your sin would be like believing that buying your wife some flowers could make up for cheating on her. Think of how the cheated on wife would view that cheap token of an apology -- that's how God views our good works.

No, he's saying that you need to start agreeing 100% with the Bible. The Bible is God's Word, and if you don't agree with it, then you don't agree with God, and that's a dangerous situation to be in.
