    Jesus was a communist!

Hello. I have read the KJV Bible and I have noticed that Jesus was obviously a communist. Unfortunately there is a lot of Jesus hate in this forum.
    Mark 12:31
    A basic principle of communism.

    Matthew 19:25-26
You must give your money away. Again communism.

    Leviticus 25:35-38
Take no interest from your brother.

Convert from capitalism to communism before Jesus smites YOU.

    SHOUT GLORY!
Deuteronomy 22:10 Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.

So wrong, but so little point replying to an obvious troll. Jesus brought you here for a reason - it's up to you to find out what that reason is. Have you lived a life of sin up til now?

No, I'm actually here to safe you from the eternal fires of hell.

No it's not. Your god, Mr J Stalin sent millions to the Gulags without a fair trial. Jesus only sends you to Hell if you don't accept him. See, Jesus loves His "brothers" whereas Communists hate everyone.

Fortunately, we all die poor - all out money is given away to those in our will. It would be stupid to give it to the poor because they would then become rich and could not get to heaven, but the poor are really looking forward to heaven.

If you are "my brother" i.e. a member of Landover Baptist Church, all loans are interest free. If you are not, then you are not my Brother in Christ and a gentle and reasonable 40%/month is charged with penalties for early repayment.

You see, Jesus was forming a club with mutual benefits for members, rather like "The Skull and Bones" (or which the marvellous Mr GWB was a member) that guarantees advancement in this world, being a True Christian™ guarantees advancement to Heaven in the next.

Tell me, what will it take to bring you to Jesus's bosom?

          Re: Jesus was a communist!

Hello Intelligent. Before I read the Bible I did not walk with Jesus and I did not know all of the things that He said. I think you are smarter than me but I have read the Bible so I know what Jesus said. I am not bragging many people have done the same thing. He did not mention communism but there is a similar word in the Bible commune also communed and communing.

When I first read the Bible I was confused because I remember the 1960s and people lived on communes and smoked reefer cigarettes and wore weird clothes and killed people and I did not think Jesus would do that so I looked up the word commune and it also means to talk with someone but especially about spiritual things. Here is a Bible verse Genesis 18:33 that uses it:

And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

There is nothing about giving away money. In the very next chapter God destroys Sodom and Gomorrah so it is a very exciting time.

          Thank you.

            Re: Jesus was a communist!

Welcome to our forum. What would you like us to call you? "Intelligent" seems like a misnomer. Before you say anything else, please tell us what church you go to and what your favorite Bible verse is and how you came to find Jesus.

In future, please be sure to quote Bible verses in context.

Mk 12:30-31 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Communists are atheists. They would balk at verse 30. And in verse 31, Jesus is quoting from Leviticus.

Lev 19:17-18 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.

Here God is saying that you must not hate your brother (one of God's children) by bearing a grudge against him or avenging yourself against him. You must love your brother by rebuking him if he sins. There is no hint of the redistribution of wealth or any other communistic principle.

Mat 19:23-26 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Amen! It is possible for the rich to be saved!

Lev 25:35-37 And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee. Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee. Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.

The keyword here is brother, that is, a fellow Israelite, or under the New Covenant, a fellow True Christian™. The Israelites were allowed to take usury from anyone else.

Deut 23:20 Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

Usury is excessive interest, by the way.

And how do you reconcile communism with the anointing at Bethany?

            Jn 12:3-8
3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

Here Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, who owns the earth and everything in it (Ps 24:1), was pampered with expensive oil. It was Judas Iscariot -- who would later betray Jesus -- who suggested selling the oil and giving the proceeds to the poor, and his motives were spurious. Jesus rebukes him for his foolishness.

And what do you think of the parable of the talents?

            Mat 25:14-30
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Everyone knows that Jesus is "an hard man, reaping where [He has] not sown and gathering where [He has] not strawed" (Mat 25:24b), and Jesus agrees with them (Mat 25:26b).

Is there any support for socialism in the Epistles? I think not.

2 Thess 3:10 If any would not work, neither should he eat.

1 Tim 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

1 Tim 5:4 But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

Every man must support himself and his own family.
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Boy, if you said to my face that Jesus was a communist, I would beat the tar out of you and then, just for good measure, I'd send your mother a letter telling her what it felt like to beat the tar out of you.

Now then, why don't you tell us what church you attend and what you favorite Bible verse is?

Son, whilst reading the Bible (KJV1611) you may have come across what is called the Ten Commandments – one of them being "Thou shalt not steal". I rest my case.

Frankly, with the level of sophistry you exhibit you don't even rise to the level of troll, much less achieving being called an Obama / Soros puppet. Hell, you don't even qualify to be an inarticulate "Occupy" protester, much less a G8 Summit stone thrower (with a pansy wrist no doubt).

Come back when you're capable of intelligently discussing the Hegelian dialectic or the labor theory of value you gormless pinhead.

Copying and pasting things you find on the internet and prancing around your mother's basement – no doubt shouting "yuk yuk, we got these Christer's now" will never advance you to becoming a productive member of Christian civilization.
                    Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
