    Hello All

    Hello All, I am Estreya, and I have joined your forum in hopes of finding wisdom from Christ's true followers. I converted to Christianity when I was 16, because I was afraid of going to Hell. My favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:12. My parents both went to Bible college. My grandfather was a preacher and missionary in the Christian Church. My uncle runs a network of Christian schools, and most of my other aunts and uncles are/were missionaries.

    I myself am a mathematician, studying to get my PhD.

    Wait, you mean to tell us you converted to Christianity when you were 16, but you don't actually believe the Bible? How does that work? To what source do you go for information about the LORD?
    Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

      Oh, ok. You have gone around spouting all your atheist nonsense in other threads, and then you come to the Intro thread (which you were supposed to do FIRST), and make up a fake "Christian" backstory so we will like you?

      Not buying it, Sister. Try again.

        Dear Estreya,

        since you mention 1 Corinthians, may I call your attention to the following verses:

        1 Corinthians 1:17-27
        17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

        18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

        19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

        20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

        21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

        22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

        23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

        24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

        25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

        26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

        27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

        It's pretty clear, dear. Worldly science is foolish in the eyes of our Lord.
        God created fossils to test our faith.
