For the bible tells me so. I've had that little jingle stuck in my head since I was a young lad and first attended Sunday school. I memorized all the names of the bible, and told my grandmother the stories within. I love her dearly, but I've got a problem.

She bought me a bible. This is great, I could always enjoy another bible, but she engraved my name on the side. I know she meant well, but I desperately need to make sure god's wrath won't rain down upon me.

Tell me friend, what 'jingle' from the Holy Bible (I had no idea the Bible had Burma Shave Jingles in it!) tells you God loves you. Do not be confused with a deep and penetrating interest in your life with love. Many a murder and politician has had a deep interest in peoples lives too but they all (well nearly all) never loved the people they affect.

Having your name in your Bible is fine. There are many Bibles like yours. But that one is yours alone. Some people highlight critical verse, others write in the edgers of the pages what sins they have committed along with a complete explanation of the transgression. God likes a permanent record.

Hello Fallon.

That song is one of the reasons that so many people will go to Hell. I had to learn it when I was a child and now that I have read the King James Version Bible and I know that the song told me lies. Most people know the first verse but there are several more and one of them says:

Jesus loves me—He who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

After my accident I read the Bible and there is Matthew 7:13-14 which says:

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

You do not want to go in to the wide gate that is the one that leads to the devil. Look for the smaller gate and you should be OK I do not think there will be any shoving either.

Just, wow?

The passage in question does not refer to sins against God, but against one's brother (Peter is not God). The Bible clearly states that only one (unforgiven) sin is necessary to be denied entry to Heaven. If you're not perfect, don't even bother knocking.

Try reading the Bible for yourself. Maybe someday you'll understand it.

And this is the fluffy bunny: . It's given to those who profess to be Christian but ignore the 90% of the Bible that explains just how angry, vengeful, and jealous God can be when He doesn't get exactly what He wants.

It's BECAUSE what you state is not Biblical that we know your ideas have some other origin. If they came from a Pastor, then he's a Pastor not interested in Scripture.

What sort of a Pastor would teach stuff not in The Bible? A nonChristian pastor. However it may be that what you've posted is not what he actually said. Just post the Scripture to support what you say here's a convenient link and then it won't matter if we misunderstand what the Pastor said.

How can you have a new favourite in Genesis 1? It should be the first thing that read and if it really spoke to you you would have loved it from the start (pun intended).
