    hi, everyone

hi, everyone, I'm 18, live in Milano, and I live with my boyfriend (he does believe in god, he's an orthodox Russian)and my cat. The reason why I came here is because I'm trying to figure out who I am exactly and what I want in life.
I never believed in anything or anyone, so I guess you could say I'm an atheist. I'm trying to figure out what it means to be saved, and if it's something I would want or need in my life, so I guess I have a lot of reading to do.
I hope to get to know some people and talk about this.
    ciao!

    Re: hi, everyone

Welcome, it's good to have someone who admits their sins from the get go!
Is there some reason why you would choose to whore yourself in sin and fornication by living with a man out of wedlock? Your boyfriend is already damned for idolatry, is this the example you think you should follow?

Read the entire Bible, follow its commandments, accept Jesus to your bosom, and repent.

You can start by laying out for us the vile unspeakable sins for which you feel guilty

      Re: hi, everyone

Hi D. A.M, thank you for your quick reply.

My boyfriend came from Russia to Italy 10 years ago, he has been living here ever since, has a job now, but lost his birth certificate during the move..also has passport problems. He can't marry, even if he wanted to. A lawyer is looking into the case but it's moving very slowly...letters to and from the Russian embassy...he'd have to go there, but returning would be a problem, so for now we legally live together.

I guess I'm sad. Not trivial things. A deeper kind. I'm looking for something to fill up an empty space, maybe faith would be a comfort or reassurance.
My sins...I've suffered an eating disorder for a long time, I have a boyfriend and am not married..have only been inside a church a few times, to attend a funeral... I don't know what sin this is even. I do not believe in god or jesus.
I have a huge need to prove myself, no matter what we do, so I suppose I am too competitive
I guess I can be self-centered and would do anything to reach my goal..
Neither of us go to church and I guess we do sin, both of us ..I don't know, I think that when we die, we disappear and I don't want it to be so.
How do I go about this?

Those are indeed grave concerns. Prayer is a good cure all for most things, provided God does not still hate you. There are Bible Verses that can explain why you feel empty

I've suffered an eating disorder for a long time
        Psalm 34:17-20

17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

I have a boyfriend and am not married
        1 Corinthians 7

this is a good source for what god expects of our sexual relations, especially verse 32

But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

I have a huge need to prove myself, no matter what we do, so I suppose I am too competitive
        Philippians 2:3-4

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Means get over yourself, you're not anything special.

Really you have to read the entire Bible to be able to understand it. Cherry picking is the art of deception, which we absolutely do not practice nor endorse here.

I want to thank you for your honesty. There are many verses about your predicament with your fornication partner. You have not honored your father by allowing him to sell/give you away into wedlock with a True Christian Man. Repentance to God and your father can help you out!

Hi, Lucrezia, nice to meet you. I am from Russia, but I live in the USA. When we live in sin for a long time, we dig ourselves deep into our own depravity and we don't really see the solution for our problems as they seem so overwhelming. When we let God rule our lives - take the driver's seat, so to speak, we allow Him to keep us on the straight and narrow, because from where He is, He can see better and He knows better. Going to church is not about being in a building, but about being in fellowship (having connection) with God and other believers. For starters, begin reading the Bible - a great way to fill a void with God's own wisdom. 2 Timothy 3:16.
Joshua 1:6: "Bee strong, and of a good courage: for vnto this people shalt thou diuide for an inheritance the land which I sware vnto their fathers to giue them".

Young woman, you have come to the right place. It is clear you crave salvation, even though you don't yet know what it is. God has already favored you by giving you a good command of English, which is necessary to truely understand the Bible. I suggest you read it.

First though, you will have to break off relations with your boyfriend, especially those realtions of a private nature; those involving impure behavior. In the first place, you are not married to him and in the second place, he is not a Christian. He is sort of like a Russian Catholic, but worse. He is a saint worshipper and an idol worshipper. Either of those crimes are punishable by a trip to Hell, as is fornication, which you are guilty of.

Also, living in Italy is chancey. Those people are mostly Catholics and mostly wine bibbers*. You can hardly see for all the cigarette smoke. God hates them both. You will have to stay away from the Italians, which is probably difficult in Italy. It's none of my business, but maybe you should move to a more Godly country, like Texas, as an example.

Being a Christian is simple in many ways, but demanding. We have a lot of rules and they are given unto us by God. They are all based on good sense and we all gladly follow them, that we may get up to Heaven one day. There is only one punishment for breaking the rules and that is Hell. Every person who lives on Earth and then dies either goes to Heaven or Hell. Only Christians are allowed in Heaven and that is the place you want to aim for.

*Proverbs 23:20- Be not among winebibbers; among gluttonous eaters of meat.
(He is referring to Italians, Frenchmen, Russians, Germans and just about everyone in Europe.)

            God Bless!
God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11

If you want to become a Christian, you will have to stop living in sin. We must obey all God's commandments.

Jas 2:10-11 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

The reverse is also true. If you don't kill anyone but commit adultery, you are a transgressor of the law. Becoming a slave to God's commandments is the cost of becoming a Christian (Rom 6:18; 22).

                I guess I'm sad.
You should be. You're a miserable sinner (Rom 3:23). God uses sorrow to bring people to repentance, but He also uses it to torment the wicked. If there were no sorrow in the world, most churches would be empty.

2 Cor 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Whether your sorrow is a good thing depends on the outcome. If you repent, this Scripture applies to you. If you don't, it applies to you.

I don't know, I think that when we die, we disappear and I don't want it to be so. How do I go about this?
Many atheists kid themselves that there's no afterlife so that they can go on sinning. They like to think they won't be held accountable for their actions in life. But Christianity promises resurrection from the dead. If there is no resurrection, the Christian life is pointless. We subject ourselves, our families and our society to needless restrictions. All our efforts will be in vain.

                1 Cor 15:17-19
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

                  Re: hi, everyone

Lucrezia, I very much doubt a Baptist preacher would refuse to perform a marriage ceremony simply because your boyfriend didn't have his birth certificate. Even if the government didn't recognize your marriage, it would be valid in God's eyes.

                  So you have no excuse.

As for your boyfriend, I think his story sounds fishy. He's probably a damned dirty gypsy. None of them have birth certificates, because they aren't born in hospitals.

My day is always ruined when someone wonders about what they "want in life". You need to grow up NOW.

We are ALL worthless to God (Romans 3:10).

So there is NOTHING for you to want but begging God for forgiveness each and every second of your life (Acts 17:30) and then there is a very very small chance you won't burn in Hell for all eternity (Matthew 7:13-14).

Hi Irinka, thank you for your advice. I think you're right about not being able to see your own sins when living in this society, religion is often overlooked. I have started reading the bible.

                      - Alvin Moss: thank you for your reply, I think you understand where I'm coming from. I really am sorry for the sins I committed in my life, and I want to repent. Moving to Texas someday sounds like something I'd like to do, but first I'll need my university degree so I can find a decent job there. I'm studying to be an interpreter Italian - English.

-Faith Machine: I haven't talked to a Baptist preacher about a marriage ceremony yet. It would be an idea, I should take it up with Ivan, and see if he's up for it.

I will pray that the Holy Spirit enter you and chase the demons out of your rectum and let Jesus fill you with His Grace. If you use your God-given free will to reject Christ and His temporary death on the cross for my sins, then you are sending yourself to hellfire.
                          Who Will Jesus Damn?
