  • My poems are more important than Jesus.

<A note to the Choir Master: The Introductory Post of the Wandering Minstrel to be played upon the lute or other string instrument>

    I the humble minstrel be
An introduction is required of me

    I wander the land
    with lute in hand
and praise the name of the Lord
and praise the name of the Lord

Psalm 100 is my scripture of choice
As I sing in joy with a pious voice

    My gimmick you'll find
    to make posts that rhyme
'Til I'm banned or I just get bored
'Til I'm banned or I just get bored

I am somewhat handsome, but not always bright. Are you the dude that visits women once a month and makes them very unhappy with your fluids? I used to hear my mom and sisters talk about you. Just between us dudes, you aren't very popular.

I don't believe that any lutes were mentioned in the Bible (KJV1611) - probably best played on psalterys.
        Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
        ...and get off my lawn

          How about quarantined instead?
1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Contests of popularity I rarely win
Such aspirations are rooted in sin

So you only visit women working in housekeeping? You could expand your base more if you visited maidens and not just maids. Then perhaps you could sell your songs to metal bands like Lawrence Welk or Judy Collins.

You is smart, you is kind, you is important.

Well high there, Wandering Minstrel. You don't look like a black fella. I thought minstrels were black?

Tis true to say most minstrels are black
but tis a skin pigmentation that I do lack

Lacking also I'm glad to say
                  Is their shirking of work
                  and their embrace of play

The negro is oft blamed for society's ills
in spite of superior janitorial skills

Tis no doubt, some are shifty and love to tell lies
most are on food stamps and they like to steal pies

I could sing out their faults and it would take all night
but tis at least one thing the pickaninnies got right

Watermelon is tasty down to the last bite.

Well that's a right fine poem, friend! I saw the title of this thread, and I was mightily concerned, but you seem to have a good head on your shoulders.

                    A couple of things, though:

Please be sure to always capitalize the word Negro, as we pride ourselves on always showing respect to our lessers.

Also, I'd be careful about eating watermelon if I were you. It could have some very unfortunate side effects.

Re: My poems are more important than Jesus.

NOTHING is more important than Jesus. Your ridiculous attempts to mock the Lord with an apparent inability to use words that flow directly from God are akin to a white woman attempting to dance to the very rhythm that brought forth the beast from the wilderness. You must accept that you are sinful by nature, which is a sly way of stating that your retardation is apparent to everyone and your little poems are without structure and worthy of admiration by the lowest drunkard of your acquaintance, by which I mean in all probability one of your parents, but which one is the least common denominator cannot be determined at this time, because your simple rhymes carry no real information. Bat, scat, rat, mat, sat, wait, I just heard something on the other side, next to the window.

It was just Jesus, knocking on my window. He whispered to me and asked me to tell you that poems are not the same thing as your penis. You may be able to gain insight into this philosophy by watching the Joel Olsteen show every Sunday morning. He likes to start the show out with a joke (not a poem, I might add) and it can be important to understand the wisdom that is being transmitted.

                      Sermons are not poetry.

Um, I think you're lying. Jesus doesn't talk to you, because you are not a True Christian!
