      Thank you

Well i haven't had the chance to read the bible. Growing up my parents never went to church or allowed a bible in the our hose. Sadly my father passed last week, and im alone now and unsure where to turn.

The other day one of my co workers witnessed to me, and I'm rather interested in looking more into learning more.

Your parents never allowed a Holy Bible in your home? Are you a muslim or something? Communist?

How did your coworker witness to you? What did he say?

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

No Im not Muslim or Communist. I've never associated myself with or looked into any other religion before now.

My coworker He said that "he notice that i wasn't myself, and he wanted to know if there was something that he could do to help". Well i told him about me losing my father, and feeling really lost. It was at this time when he told me that a man called Jesus Christ had died on the cross to pay for my sins".

          that's about it

Its just been racking my mind since.

            Re: Hello Everyone

You mean to tell me that in the state where public officials so courageously defy the liberal agenda of "freedom from religion" by providing Salvation to school children in the public schools, all other education being private Christian, or Christian homeschooling, and you've never ever heard the Good News until adulthood, after your father died? Was the funeral held in a tavern, dear?

Son, I think you're being disingenuous. Tell us, why did you come to our good forum? What really brought you here?

It's okay to confess your deepest, most depraved sin. Only in confession and repentance can one find the Saving Grace of the LORD. We promise only to judge with a righteous judgement (John 7:24).

Agreed, Sister Mary. If James were telling the truth, it would be a little bit more convincing.

The Christian faith is easy to understand. Read the Bible. Do everything it says. Believe that Christ was dead for most of a long weekend so that God would be able to forgive you for your being born a sinner. Die. Get into heaven.

That's all we do, and that's all anybody needs to do.

                      Re: Hello Everyone

Every day that I read the news headlines I'm struck with how far Satan has come to completely undermining the Word of God in America. With prayer being struck from the schools for better part of a half century, the unrelenting rise of Godless secularism in the culture, the ACLU suing every mention of Jesus and the banning of crosses just about everywhere, its becoming entirely possible that someone could grow up in America and not hear of the Bible (KJV1611) - especially if you don't have cable or satellite.

I'm willing to give this poor young man the benefit of the doubt for the moment and hear him out. His experience and witnessing just might be informative. Maybe he grew up on an injun reservation or something. Either Satan sent him here to troll, or the Holy Spirit sent him to save his immortal soul.
                      Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
                      ...and get off my lawn

James, I have spent considerable time in Hickory and I can say without doubt that there is not a single person on Earth who grew up in Hickory North Carolina and was not exposed to God's Word, unless they are blind, deaf and live under a log.

Atheists who have the temerity to reveal their perversion in that city are run out of town and beaten with sawmill slabs, which are in abundant supply due to the oak tree cutting that is required to make all that Broyhill furniture that Monty Hall likes to give away.

Thus, there is the odor of mendacity to your introduction.

James, I had a friend who was an auto tech also. I can remember him coming home filthy dirty with bruised knuckles from work every day, then he asked Jesus into his worthless heart and what a life changing experience he had!! Just the other day an elderly woman came in to the shop with a steering wheel that would stick, but only at high speeds, so around town driving was still okay for the most part. My newly saved friend now goes into a prayer closet/men's room and prays for a fix to the most complicated problems a car could have. He now comes home with clean hands and a squeaky clean soul to boot. Of course the customer is still charged for these fixes like shocks, oil changes and the such, but the master carpenter, Jesus is doing the work with His nailed scarred hands. Oddly it only seems to work on American cars for some reason and never works on German cars, probably because they are built by Nazis. We suspect Jesus is still holding a bit of a grudge for the holocaust thingy.
