Back in 2012 I went on a mission trip to Venezuela with a group of Evangelical Christians for 3 weeks. It's a nation of godless commie socialists. Combine this fact with the facts listed by the OP and maybe we can come to the agreement that Venezuela is the worst nation in South America.

I was there once, after picking up sopme supplies in Bolivia. Never again. Ever since, I subcontract it out to some other low cost carrier.
