Religion in the UK these days.

    Quakers 'to allow gay marriages'

The Quakers have supported same-sex unions for more than two decades

One of the UK's oldest Christian denominations - the Quakers - looks set to extend marriage services to same-sex couples at their yearly meeting later. The society has already held religious blessings for same-sex couples who have had a civil partnership ceremony.
But agreeing to perform gay marriages, which are currently not allowed under civil law, could bring the Quakers into conflict with the government.
The issue of active homosexuality has bitterly divided Churches.
But the BBC's religious affairs correspondent Robert Pigott said the Quakers had been more prepared than other groups to reinterpret the Bible in the light of contemporary life.
Sure. Why don't you! Let's just tear out a few pages from our beloved Bible!

LISTEN YOU HOMERS: YOU CAN NOT BE A HOMER AND A "CHRISTIAN". IT JUST DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!

    Leviticus 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

My blood pressure is 22 over 14 after reading this. THANKS A LOT!
    Psalm 81:10:
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt:
open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

It's "Christian" groups like this that make me sick. Obviously they care more about current politics and issues than God's Word. When put up against modern ideas, the Bible has to go in their eyes. Absolutely terrible. Like you said, they conveniently ignore the Leviticus quote. Here is another one they must have skipped.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

I encountered a Quaker many years ago at a public library while protesting that vile Madonna pornographic book.

He was quite odd, and I do not know how widely his beliefs are shared by other Quakers. In addition to his Quakerism, he was quite excited about the Northwest Ordinance, successionism, the Pacific Northwest, and not paying income tax.

He also offered to take me out for pie and coffee after the protest.

      I declined.

Quakers! Don't talk to me about Quakers! They are no Christians, not even false Christians! They are no more than a social group who meet up once a week to say what they feel like saying and call it "inspired by God"!

Even their womenfolk speak in their meeting halls (note - they are NOT churches). What's with that? Women speaking their mind without manly guidance? Abominable and bound to lead to trouble.

Why do they even pretend to worship Jesus? They always were trouble-makers. There should be laws against them as there were in the old days.
