  • Freehold Police Department Announces War on Video Games

The Freehold, Iowa Police Department has announced today we are beginning a brave and ambitious campaign against one of the greatest threats facing our youth today: VIDEO GAMES.

    • Experts estimate that kids between the ages of 8-19 spend as much as 17 hours a day playing video games.

    • 93 % of the games contain at least mild violence, drug references and sexual content.

    • Studies have shown that children who play video games are much more likely to become violent, to disobey parents, teachers and preachers, and to eventually start taking drugs.

The good people of Freehold have said "NOT IN OUR TOWN" and the FPD has listened.

Starting June 7, 2010, the FPD will enact a zero-tolerance ban on all video games. Any homes found in possession of video games or video gaming devices will be subject to fines of up to $1200 and will have all offending items removed.

Repeating offenders will be arrested and required to undergo video game addiction rehab.

Instead of playing video games, parents are urged to give their kids wholesome Bible-based board and trivia games, Bible coloring books, and Chick Tracts.

Fathers are urged to take their sons hunting, and mothers are urged to teach their daughters new recipes.

Imagine how many souls you could win for Christ if you took the time your kids spend playing mindless murder simulators and went on a witnessing trip!

Together, we can win the war on video games!

Being a rugged individualist libertarian type, this is the exact type of thing I can get on board with.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.
