Please note that I'm looking for answers, not trouble.
Now, I scanned these forums and this website, but all I've seen are not words trying to call people to god, but words of hate that establish fear and causes more people to hate each other. I honestly see no "Love thy neighbor as thyself" or anything like it. Now, I now some of you are considering me "Unsaved Trash", but I would like to ask you people to find me references from the bible to see if you can answer my questions. Having a pastor post would be most appreciated.
Lets start with Homosexuality.
Please note that I am not gay. I do not support nor detest it.
Now, I've seen plenty of hate threads regarding the acts of homosexuality. Now, I understand why you would hate it, but to say that it is a despicable sin and those who partake in it are eternally damned? I did some research over this topic and I found no such verse saying homosexuality is wrong except for Leviticus 18: 22, which says that it is detestable. During the times after Exodus and onward, if men were caught or discovered that they partook in the act of sexual intercourse with another man, that person would be exiled from their village or town, not put to death. This lasted on in many early European countries, countries that followed the Jewish law and even in early American history during the 1600's, which was the same time that other branches of the Christian Church came to be, such as the Quakers, Presbyterians and even you, the Baptist. Of course, even after the U.S. constitution was written, people would discriminate against homosexuals and even people of other races. The only thing worse than homosexuality and other "major sins", was not keeping kosher. Leviticus 17:1-16 states that consuming blood from an unclean beast in considered to be a sin worthy of a mortal death (stoning). Even some early American colonies stoned some who didn't keep kosher. But today in modern day society, people eat non-kosher things all the time. A lot of Christians believe that God stated that they were unclean because people didn't have the technology to protect themselves from unpasteurized foods today. This includes many branches of the Baptist Church. I'm not one to take the bible as a whole. I don't acknowledge the verses about keeping kosher, even if it's in the same bible, and I know a lot of you baptists don't either. But you think that committing a sin worthy of death is just fine, but committing a sin worthy of exile is horrendous? Christian scientists, and I mean CHRISTAIN SCIENTISTS have discovered an odd genetic formation in the human gene that affects the brains development, which could mean that a genetic defect could cause homosexuality. If you say that all homosexuals go to Hell, even though God created them that way, you mean that God creates people just to go to Hell? Our God is a god of love, mercy and grace. Though he is a god of jealousy and wrath, he is still a loving god.
I would like a verse from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible that says why homosexuality is a damnable sin.
My next topic is judgment.
Why is it that you people feel the need to judge others? God gave you the power to spread his word across the world (Acts1:7-8). Instead of trying to convert people of other religions, you say that they are living a sinful life and use them as tools to raise yourself above others. Jesus uses the plank and the sawdust as a way of telling people to not judge, for you will be judge with the same measurements as you measured the other person in Matthew 7:1-6. This links over to the last topic. Since when did God give us the right to judge other people and give them the verdict of who goes to Heaven and who goes toHell?
I would like a verse from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible that says why we should judge others.
My next topic is about other Doctrines of Christianity and Race.
Your church likes to say that people who worship in a different doctrine basically worship the devil. This is the most confusing for me. Other doctrines of Christianity such as Lutheranism found a verse that gave them the freedom to worship God in anyway they wanted to. Most people think that if you accept the truth that Jesus died for your sins, you will be accepted in to heaven. So why is it that you make fun of other races and doctrines by saying they worship the devil? I cannot find a verse in the bible that says that Africans will not be accepted into Heaven, nor can I find one for Irish people, Arabian or Hispanic.
I would like a verse from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible that says why people of other Christian Doctrines are worshiping the devil and why people of other races will go to hell.
That is all I have to ask. I will check for replies tommarrow.
