  • What’s Your OQ (Openness Quotient)?

While liberals, humanists and atheists claim to be more open-minded than everybody else, they are in fact very closed-minded when it comes to views that differ from their own. To expose this hypocrisy, I’ve developed a method of quantifying open-mindedness that will enable us to measure and compare the open-mindedness of different groups. The following test is based on a model proposed by Andy Schlafly of Conservapedia. I have, however, had to extensively modify it. (Schlafly believes in the Shroud of Turin and that Jesus wrote Hebrews )

    OQ Test
1 Is it possible that something you’ve accepted for most of your life may in fact be completely false?
2 If a political, scientific or philosophical argument were proven to be false, would you keep using it anyway?
3 Do you refuse to consider the possibility that the Bible may be divinely inspired (2 Tim 3:16)?
4 Do you think it is impossible to measure open-mindedness?
5 Do you refuse to admit that homeschooling might possibly be more effective for students than public, secular schooling?
6 Do you refuse to admit that some things taught in schools and universities are false, and even known to be false by some teachers and professors?
7 Do you think there has to be a natural or materialistic explanation for miracles, the creation of the universe, and the existence of life?
8 Do you think the big bang must absolutely have occurred?
9 Do you think evolution is the only possible explanation for the existence of life?
10 Do you refuse to consider the possibility that the earth may be flat?
11 Do you think it is impossible that a worldwide flood may have occurred (Gen 7:13-24)?
12 Do you refuse to consider the possibility that the earth was created in six 24-hour days (Ex 20:11) 6,000 years ago?
13 Do refuse to consider that “experts” and “scientists” may possibly not have all the answers and that perhaps True Christians™ may have valuable insights to which “experts” are blind?
14 Is it impossible that radiometric dating methods are completely inaccurate?
15 Do you refuse to consider that anthropogenic climate change may possibly be a socialist hoax?
16 Do you think it is impossible that all animals were once herbivorous (Gen 1:30)?
17 Do you refuse to consider the possibility that the imposition of gay marriage on a nation may cause God to destroy it (Gen 19:1-29)?
18 Do you refuse to consider the possibility that the Amalekites (1 Sam 15:2-3) and Canaanites (Deut 20:16-18) and other nations God destroyed in the Old Testament deserved it (Deut 9:4-5)?
19 Do you deny that God always answers the prayers of True Christians™ (Jn 14:12-14)?
20 Do you think it is impossible that this test is not in any way biased?

    Follow-Up Questions

For each question you got wrong, please answer the following additional questions to determine whether you will lose a point:
1 Have you seriously considered the evidence for this idea?
    a) If no, is that because you have never heard of it? (If you answer “no,” you lose a point for closed-mindedness.)
    i) If not, will you consider the evidence? (If you answer “no,” you lose a point for closed-mindedness.)
    b) If yes, what evidence did you review? (If you have only reviewed mainstream scientific evidence, you lose a point for confirmation bias. If you reviewed the Bible, Christian books, magazines, articles and websites, and “heterodox” science books, magazines, articles and websites, proceed to the next question.)
    i) how much time did you spend reviewing this evidence? (If less than 60 minutes, you lose a point for closed-mindedness. If more than 60 minutes and you are still firm in your stubborn refusal to accept the facts, you lose a point for closed-mindedness.)

If you score below 10, you are severely libtarded/ closed-minded.

    So what’s your OQ? (I scored 20.)

Suggestions from True Christians™ for more questions to add to the test are of course welcome.
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
