As they say in Mary Kay, you only get one chance to make a good first impression.
I am a (pink) KJV Bible believing wife, and mother, and Independent Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. The motto of Mary Kay is, God First!
Family Second! Career Third! Jesus is my rock and he has blessed my Mary Kay Business so that I am a free, pink Cadillac driving Sales Director. Glory!
It all stated a few years back, when I won a free, in-home, Mary Kay facial. I was so excited, because I'd never won anything in my life! At that time, I was unkept in my appearance, had problem T-zone skin, and did not know the Lord Jesus. It was at this beauty session that the Independent Beauty Consultant shared God's Word and the Mary Kay opportunity with me.
Between waxing my unibrow and the appricot facial scrub, I accpected Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Savior. My soul felt as soft and sliky for the Lord, as a Satin Hands treatment did for my hands (available as a gift purchase for $25). And I have never looked back.
With the Lord Jesus in my heart, He has taught me not to accept any negativity in my Mary Kay Business. Just last month, at my free, weekly, Mary Kay training meeting (please bring $12 and a snack to pass) I was encouraging the girls, in my unit, to order another $2000 in inventory (you can't sell from an empty store, women do not like waiting for their cosmetics, and if my unit does not meet the monthly sales production quota, I am charged a co-op payment on my free, pink Cadillac.)
One of my girls quipped, "But we've already maxed out all our credit cards ordering inventory". Now, that is just negativity talking, and we all know who is responisible for negitivity, Satan! All the girls in my unit know that I do not put up with Satan's negitivity. As a reminder, I had her hold the stinkin' thinkin' stuffed skunk for the rest of the meeting.
Jesus has given me this wonderful opportunity to minister to women, and no matter what their circumstances He wants them to be successful as God fearing Christian women, wives and mothers, and, of course, in their Mary Kay business. Just last week, when I was doing my charity work, in the skilled living facility, giving free Mary Kay facials to all the crippled and retarded women who live there. I sign on a quadriplegic woman as a beauty consultant.
Of course, she had her objections, like "I am paralyzed from the neck down" and "I can barely talk with this respirator." (Blah, Blah, Blah, negativity again!) But any good Mary Kay Businesswoman knows how to overcome objections. I said, "You have all these health care providers to help you with your daily needs, and your daily needs will be giving facials and cold calling." You should have seen how excited she was as I put the pen between her teeth to sign the Mary Kay beauty agreement. I thank Jesus everyday for giving me this opportunity to help women acheive their dreams.
I'm so sorry for going on about my Mary Kay Business, when career is supposed to be third. My husband Carl, thinks it's so cute that I think I'm a businesswoman. Carl and I have been married for 10 years and have been blessed with three lovely, God fearing, children, two boys and a girl. As Mary Kay Ash points out in her autobiography, which is sent to every new Beauty Consultant in their starter kits, it's important to have domestic help, to give a successful Beauty Consultant more time to work her business. My Polish maid, Vera, makes the best Apple pie and helps me to home school my children with Accelerated Christian Education materials.
I read Proverbs 31:10-16 everyday from my pink, KJV Bible.
10Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
In Christ,
Dora Peyne (I'm just DoPey for the Lord!)
