Who I am and what I do away from the internet is not important. What I do on the internet aside from visiting online forums is unimportant as well. I came here because I wanted to have a discussion. I myself am surrounded by idiots in my life, and it can get pretty frustrating. Trying to talk to these people in my life is like trying to push against a wall; it's a pointless and exhausting experience. The people out there who are intelligent are very rare indeed. Luckily, there are online forums such as Landover Baptist, where I can spread my wisdom. Some of the members of this site are very idiotic, and yet I sense that there is a possibility of somehow getting into your minds, and helping to change and open them. You guys seem to be different from other fundtards.
After having thought over my positions on several political issues, I have decided I am "liberal" on progressive taxation, gay marriage, abortion, the nanny state, healthcare, and immigration. I am "conservative" on guns, voter ID, affirmative action, and while I am not as partisan as someone like Scott Walker, I do support limiting collective bargaining in times of deficits. But I do not support permanent abandonment of collective bargaining, just as I do not support permanent tax cuts. Certain gen-ed classes in schools are important, but speech and art are not among them. When it comes to gay marriage, I support exempting churches from having to marry gay couples. I'm okay with gay men serving in the military whether openly or not, but I can understand not having gays in the Boy Scouts. For abortion, here's the deal. If you want to decrease abortion rates, then support contraception. And don't forget to walk the walk. Be ready to adopt babies who might otherwise be aborted.
When it comes to political pundits, I respect Bill O'reilly, Greta Van Susteren, Mike Huckabee, Rachel Maddow, Alan Colmes, and journalists like Ezra Klein, Joe Klein, and Fareed Zakaria. mormons that I try to stay away from include Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, and of course, Michael Moore, Keith Olbermann, and Ed Scultz. And of course, there are people in the middle, such as Bill Maher, Chris Matthews, Lawrence O'donnell, Al Sharpton, Laura Ingraham, and Piers Morgan, who I am neutral towards. Away from politics, you should also watch South Park, and of course, the Boondocks, a black American anime. The best character is Huey Freeman of course.
