Hi to all of you on this site. I've been saved since I was 9 years old, which is 20 years, and I go to an independent Baptist church about 45 minutes west of Nashville, TN. My favorite Bible verses are actually a whole chapter, Psalm 100.


I probably shouldn't say it here, as y'all will probably make fun of me, but I'm nearly totally blind and I have Asperger's *ducks to avoid the stones*.

You managed an introduction. This is extremely good news, as it can lead to Repentance, Acceptance of Jesus and ultimately a one-way ticket up to Heaven.

Psalms 100 is nice albeit shortish.

Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Whatever the Lord gives us it is wonderful and magnificent. We should appreciate also His smiting of sinners as it only enhances the possibilitites for Salvation for the rest of us!

I must ask about your username. Why do you identify with the inventor of the Cherokee syllabary? It is taken as one of the most astonishing intellectual feats of all time. I am afraid of hubris (Matthew 23:12) here. That said, I am sure you have found your spiritual home here with us. You have much to learn and we have so much to give!

Actually my username is identified with the tree. Also I just love the sound of that word. The Cherokee chief's name is spelled Sequoyah *shudder*. Not crazy abou tthat spelling, as it just hits a bad chord with me for some reason. It's Sequoia.

How does a 9 year old retard girl get Saved(r)? That's just ridiculous. Even normal kids don't reach the age of reason until they're 13 or so.

Did your daddy use this guide book on you? How often does he lay on a good Christian beating?

Dear Friend,

The tree genus Sequoia was named after Chief Sequoyah in 1847 based on the translitteration practice of Cherokee names back then. The botanist, Mr. Stephan Endlicher was also a linguist and apparently admired the work of the Cherokee Chief or found the word pleasing to his Ear.

I am not sure if Christians™ should identify themselves with vegetation, either. God had other plans for the plant kingdom.

And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Obviously, sequoias (of the Created Tree Kind) are pleasant to the sight, I surmise that their nuts can be eaten and they provide lumber (Deuteronomy 20:20).

Names aside, how's life treated you regarding begetting and how do you plan to make sinners Repent and Accept Jesus?

Lol, if you knew me, you'd absolutely know that I do not live to offend Jesus. On the contrary, I live to worship Him. It's just that I am familiar with this board, and I knew it was going to come up sooner or later, so I figured I should get it out of the way so I could go ahead and have the stones thrown at me. Plus, some of the stuff you guys say is hilarious, albeit in a black comedy way.

Greetings Sequoia. I have never known a person named after your tree. Olive is a common name in Jamaica which is my home. That is a kind of tree. Also I have a cousin named Apple but I think that her father was referring to horse droppings. Many Puerto Rican women are named Beech. I have never met one named so but I hear their husbands calling them sometimes.

If you are wanting to communicate with Christians this is a good place. They are white people but they are not cruel. They have been very welcoming to me as long as I do not say something they don't like. I am sure they will be friendly to you too. I am very happy to have met you.

Yes, I know how rare they are. It makes me appreciate it all the more when I toss a nice thick log in the fire place just before my nap after a nice dinner of bacon and potatoes.
There is only one Jesus too. To sleep in front of the fire and having Jesus watch over me is vey comforting. God provides what we need if we give to Him. Tell me friend, what have you done for God today?

You just go ahead and go to Sequoia National Park with your axe and start chopping. I'd seriously like to see that. Not sure there'd be internet access where you'd be going. Also I'd be careful what you say to your new sellmates. They probably wouldn't take too kindly to the vitrial you spew.
