Amen! The 10 commandments and their punishments should be displayed in schools, courthouses, next to the pillory and etc.

I Need Your Help With the Ten Commandments

First off let me say how happy I am to have found a truly Bible based church that teaches the true word of God. That is why I have been reading all about Landover Baptist Church. I am impressed beyond words at the pedigree of the pastors here and that brings me to this request.

I hope that you would agree with me that the 10 commandments should be displayed everywhere but would you also agree the punishments for breaking God's holy word should be displayed along with them?

Please feel free to critique my work so far.

Here is what I have come up with so far. Any help would be appreciated.

1st. Commandment, Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”.

Old Testament punishment - Deuteronomy 17:1-5 “And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heavens, which I have not commanded. Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing and shalt stone them with stones, till they die”. Deuteronomy 13:6-10, “If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is of thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. Thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the Lord thy God." Exodus 22:20 “He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the Lord only, he shall be utterly destroyed”. New Testament punishment - Mark 16:16 “He that believeth not, shall be damned”.

2nd. Commandment, Exodus 20:4 “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water below.”

Old Testament punishment- Deuteronomy 27: 1 5 “Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image.” That’s right kids don’t EVER draw, sculpt or paint or else god will curse you. Wanna be an artist, a photographer, take a picture of yourself or family? TOO BAD, God says no! You better drop out of art class before he smites you with boils.

3rd. Commandment, Exodus 20:7 “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain”.

Old Testament punishment - Leviticus 24:16 “And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death”, New Testament punishment - Matthew 12:32 “Whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come”. Mark 3:29 - “He that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgivness, but is in danger of eternal damnation”.

No I don't. Wasn't that clear the last time?

He's the guy who's got a radio show that 250 million people listen to and download. And what the other post said was true, he does ridicule this entire subject, quoting directly from the forum and the original list.
Ah, a God-mocker. Well, that would explain why I don't really know her wouldn't it?

However, I feel I should bring you back to the real world and let you know that you won't get anywhere with your "Joo lawyers" (by the way, what is a Joo?)
You don't know what a Joo is? Friend, are you an anti-semitist? Don't like them Kikes, do you? Well, let me tell you that racism is frowned upon on this forum. You better edit your post.

as he hasn't done anything illegal.
I take it you are a lawyer then?

If Palin wins the 2012 elections!? What world are you living in man. I agree with your sentiment, it would be something worth fighting against but honestly, her and her political agenda are not enough of a threat to consider a possibility. Don't be worrying about Palin, she'll never get into power.

And people, before you start telling me I'm wrong and that Sarah Palin is going to get into power and I'll see etc, let's just wait two years, see that I'm right, and then if you're very good boys and girls I'll let you ALL kiss my ass.

Anybody can quote things they read on the internet and then give their opinion, it's public domain.
    Unlucky.

You seem like the good sort. Why not head over to The introduction forum and tell us more about yourself. What Church you attend, how you found God and etc.

What's the matter, friend? It's laid out perfectly for you and scripturally backed up. It's what the Bible commands. Who are you to question the will of God?

It has come to my attention that not only are many of our members unable to correctly recite all of The Ten Commandments, but those who can remember even a few, invariably get the sequence wrong.

Let me set the record straight: The commandments do not come in a random sequence. With the exception of the 7th Commandment -- an obvious anomaly -- the Commandments appear in order of severity. The harsher the punishment, the closer to the top.

I hope this handy color chart will make the intrinsic beauty of God's word more comprehensible to all:

    CommandmentAlert LevelPunishment
    1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.SevereGenocide. Entire cities with men, women, children and animals must be killed. (Deuteronomy 2:33-34, Numbers 21:34-35, 1 Samuel 15:2-3, Joshua 6:21. Joshua 10:40) In some cases you can keep the girls alive for raping. (Numbers 31:15-18)
    2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven imageSevereGenocide. Entire cities with men, women, children and animals must be killed. (See above.)
    3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain;HighCapital punishment (Leviticus 24:16, Deuteronomy 18:20, Mark 3:28-29)
    4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.HighCapital punishment (Exodus 31:14, Exodus 31:15, Exodus 35:2)
    5. Honour thy father and thy mother:HighCapital punishment (Exodus 21:15, Exodus 21:17, Leviticus 20:9)
    7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.HighCapital punishment (Leviticus 20:10)
    6. Thou shalt not kill.ElevatedCapital punishment in some cases (For killing Cain, yes, for killing Abel, no: Genesis 4:15).
    8. Thou shalt not steal.GuardedExcessive fines or slavery: (Exodus 22:1-3). Only in rare cases such as stealing slaves, capital punishment (Exodus 21:16). Thieves caught in the night are to be executed (Exodus 22:1-3)
    9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.LowDespisement and scorn (Proverbs 12:8)

While I commend and support your desire to ensure members are well-versed in scripture, I do question the assumption that the Sixth Commandment is an 'anomaly'. God is great. He does not make mistakes, nor anomalies.
