You have a potty mouth, young lady. Furthermore it is clear you have never read the Bible. And for the record, the gist of the original post was not treating women like donkeys, but rather that like donkeys, God wants us to treat women as property.


I mean seriously, women are not synonymous with donkeys. First, they require specialized bits and bridles not available at your local feed and tack store. Lacking the body strength of a donkey, one must purchase lightweight carts to attach them to. It is quite impractical to use them as beasts of burden on a farm, requiring at least a team of six to haul a couple cords of wood or a decent stack of hay bales. They are in possession of minimal stamina, meaning that if used for transportation one must maintain nearly flat paths.


No, it really isn't worth the effort to use them like donkeys, and I can't imagine anyone actually having a stable for such use on a discrete central Texas farm surrounded by miles of privacy fence and containing paved, flat paths meandering through the stumpy trees where women are kept and used as draft mares for the amusement of their owner. That's just ridiculous, and I cannot pretend to grasp what sort of a perverted atheist mind would even think of such a thing! Frankly, you disgust me, madam!

This gives me a better idea where you're "coming from" but in your posts across several threads despite requests you have not included any Scripture and I can't find your introductory post which, as I've already pointed out, is probably superfluous to understanding what motivates you. But it is a requirement for new posters.

Deuteronomy 5:21

Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbor's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbor's.

This commandment mentions the wife first,rather than the ass (donkey) likely because of the earlier commandment regarding adultery.


The outcome of coveting a wife is adultery, whereas the outcome of coveting a donkey is theft. Adultery is seven on the list, and stealing is eight. Given that honoring God and not any other deities is first on the list, we can see the Ten Commandments as a clear indication of God's priorities.


Adultery is a bigger issue to God than stealing. But coveting any property belonging to one's neighbor is still a "not" rather than a "shall." There is no commandment stating a "not" position for regarding women as property.

The order is interesting, Sister. You will notice that Deuteronomy differs from Exodus 20:17, which places the house above the wife, a house being presumably of higher value and more difficult to replace.

In terms of punishment, as you say we need to bear in mind the likely consequences of the coveting, i.e. adultery vs. theft. Pastor Enoe has clearly set out their relative severity in his post The Ten Commandments and their Punishments.
