We do not call God evil because if we did, He would send us to hell to be tortured for all eternity. I really could care less if you feel "put off". God gets to do whatever He wants because He is more powerful than us, and you get to shut up and worship Him!

I have no power in me to make anyone become a believer. Only God has that power. The reason you don't believe in because God has hardened your heart and blinded your eyes. He does this because He hates you. He has hated you since before you were even born. He created you for the sole purpose of being able to send you to hell, so that His glory would be even more obvious to the select few He loves.

All of this is clearly explained in the Bible, Romans chapter 9.

This is why christianity is mocked all around the world.
